I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University while serving in the U.S. Army. I am a veteran and served as a mental health specialist for 7 years. Upon completion of my commitment I relocated back to Florida where I have worked with community based services, corrections, and crisis response services. I have over 20 year of experience and have work with a wide variety of individuals helping them to adjust to and maneuver through life’s up downs and everything in between.

Hello! I am a LCSW licensed in Florida. I have 21 years experience in the field and 14 years post graduate from USF. When I share my personal journey to becoming a LCSW I always say this field chose me. The experiences I have had in this field are truly awe inspiring and life changing. I hope that through the connections I make with each client, that they leave feeling empowered and inspired that they can lead the life they desire and deserve. I have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, military related trauma. I also have experience with chronic illness and death and dying. I am passionate about creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I have worked with all ages during my career. I currently focus on working with adults. I currently offer Solutions Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I have chosen these modalities as they focus less on the problem and more on the solution and where you would like to be. They are empowerment based, placing you as the expert in the treatment room and of your own life. I am there merely as a guide to help you uncover your own potential and strengths. My experience includes assisting clients with a variety of issues including Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Anger, Communication, insomnia, and other life-distressing problems. I provide no-nonsense solution-focused strategies utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and motivational approaches. By using these proven therapeutic approaches, we will change long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I find great satisfaction in helping others solve complex problems that can seem difficult to overcome. My approach to problem-solving is ecelectic and I tailor my treatment plan to my patient's individual characteristics and needs. Within my practice, I see adults of all ages who are dealing with some sort of struggle. I enjoy working with young adults on issues related to personal growth and development. I also have considerable expertise in working with older adults who are dealing with cognitive or health issues, and their caregivers.
