Welcome! I'm Anthonette. First, I want to applaud you for taking a step toward improving your mental health. I specialize in helping women heal from anxiety and depression so they can live authentically and with intention. I believe every woman is equipped with her own set of solutions to the challenges she faces, and with the right guidance and support she can overcome even the most difficult experiences in life.
In therapy with me you can expect a safe and judgement-free space to unpack and unlearn the thoughts and feelings that are not serving you. I will teach you skills to help challenge negative thoughts, create a practical self-care routine, and reconnect with your inner self. I invite you to reach out if you think we might be a good fit.
My clients appreciate my warmth and compassion. As a Black woman, my life experiences and the way I walk through the world, allow me to connect on a deeper level with other Black people and minorities.
Can you relate to feeling overwhelmed by your responsibilities at work and home? Instead of waking up feeling refreshed do you feel drained or worried from the start? Perhaps you struggle with making decisions or sticking to the goals you set out for yourself only, to feel defeated and frustrated by your efforts to become a better version of yourself. Envisioning a brighter future can seem impossible when clouded by a sea of negative thoughts.
Anthonette Nelson offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Florida.
I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that focuses on teaching clients skills to manage emotions, cope with stress, and improve relationships. I focus on teaching you skills to recognize and restore emotional dysregulation, set boundaries, and effectively communicate your needs. I have used DBT for individuals dealing with borderline personality disorder, self-harm behaviors, ADHD, chronic suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression, and can be adapted for couples.
