Hello, I'm Allison. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been in private practice since 2018. I previously worked in dual diagnosis treatment centers for addiction/ mental health for seven years. I help individuals, couples and families improve communication, rebuild connection, and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Many times clients who contact me have no experience in therapy, but just know that their life is not satisfying or something is off. That's enough by the way! Anything and everything can be discussed in therapy. I have frequently been told I'm easy to open up to, and clients often feel relieved that I am more directive than a therapist who listens without guidance. I enjoy cheering on my clients' wins, but also being there for the hard moments, and genuinely love what I do. Finding relief and reconnecting with a sense of peace is more achievable than it might feel right now—and once you start, the process of change often unfolds more quickly than you expect. If you'd like to learn more about me and my therapy methods, feel free to visit my website at www.mindtalkhealing.com
The first session is all about connection and clarity. We’ll talk through what’s been weighing on you, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and how I can best support you. You don’t need to prepare anything perfectly or have all the answers — just come as you are.
My biggest strength is being multi cultural, having lived in several countries around the world I understand how cultural differences can affect problems and solutions. I am also passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and couples in navigating relationships, stress, identity, and everyday challenges in ways that feel authentic and sustainable. I support clients to understand ADHD as a strength, helping them build on their creativity, intuition, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities while offering coping skills for deficits/ challenges.
I work with individuals and couples seeking insight, emotional growth, healthier relationships, and practical tools for lasting change. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, identities, and relationship structures and strive to create an affirming and supportive therapeutic environment. I work well with clients who are curious about understanding their attachment patterns, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics, and who are open to exploring deeper emotional healing and connection.
I identify as
Attachment-based
I use an attachment-based approach to therapy that explores how early relationships and life experiences shape patterns of connection, emotional responses, and interpersonal dynamics. Therapy focuses on building self-awareness, strengthening secure relationships, and fostering emotional safety, trust, and resilience
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy that helps clients recognize how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward meaningful behavioral and emotional change
Mind-body approach
I use a mind-body approach to therapy that recognizes the connection between emotional wellbeing and physical experience. I help clients build awareness of how stress, trauma, and relationship patterns show up in the body while developing tools for emotional regulation, grounding, and healing.
Couples Counseling
I have over a decade of experience working with couples in various settings, what kind of interventions I use depends on what is necessary as each couple is unique in their goals/ problems. This may include solution focused therapy, attachment-based interventions, communication and conflict-resolution skills training, premarital and relationship enrichment counseling, family systems therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Gottman method or others.

Been going to Allison for a few years now on and off, and I always feel like I’ve moved the ball forward after a session with her. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone, she will always tell you what you have to hear though, not what you want to. But that just is what makes her so good at what she does. She’s seriously awesome.
