I’m, in general, curious about people and who they are; so I LOVE hearing about interests or hobbies or anything that relates to a person’s individuality. I incorporate harm reduction and motivational interviewing within my work. I believe that people are conduits to change and change is dependent on motivation and readiness. I think it is okay if someone is not ready or is not sure if they are ready; we all start somewhere! I enjoy watching people evolve and grow into their authentic selves; which includes knowing who they are and what they value. I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience working with diverse individuals in the community, private practice, and residential substance abuse treatment. Never in a million years did I ever think providing counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups, would be the career to captivate my heart….but it is! My specialties are working with clients who may be suffering from traumatic incidents, substance abuse, various forms of anxiety (PTSD, stress disorders), depression, self-esteem, and gender identity. Making the decision to receive any form of mental health counseling can be taxing, however, the results are often positive and rewarding. Learning to face your fears in a healthy and appropriate manner is a sign of growth and maturity. It is not an easy task. You will cry, laugh, and maybe feel a little uncomfortable at times. This is just the therapeutic process working to make you emotionally stronger. *Please note that my preference for treatment sessions are individual and group therapy. However, I do provide a limited number of couples or family therapy sessions for special circumstances.

Before my studies at FGCU, I was in the rental business and felt that I was in my calling when I did volunteer work helping people in the US and abroad.
