New to Grow
Hi! My name is Nykke, a little about me- I am a dog mom of 3, an artist and serious crafter. I am a Milk Duds enthusiast. I bring my whole self to this work — so you can feel safe bringing yours. I show up as a real person. Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, sometimes even funny. You’ll get thoughtful feedback, tools you can use, and a therapist who actually believes in your ability to heal.
During our intial session I hope to begin creating a safe space for you, a place to heal, grow & become more fully you. We will talk about what you want to work on and review measures/questionnaires you have filled out.
I attempt to find a balance between holding space and challenging you during sessions. I like to provide psycho-education so you know why something is happening or why I give you an assignment between sessions to complete. I think outside of the box and hope to make therapy fun and engaging. As someone who is in therapy themselves I understand what you may be going through in trying to begin this journey.
I enjoy working with people who want to do the work. I meet clients where they are and also try to push them to meet their greatest self and goals. If a client has a concern I want them to feel that they can come to me and it can be discussed in a health way. I believe that the therapeutic relationship should be a healthy one and I hope to achieve that with my clients.
I try to pull things from different methods that I have been trained on, such as CBT, DBT, etc.
I use MI with anyone stuck in making a change, especially with those dealing with substance abuse/use.
I think everyone deserves to understand what they are being presented with.
It is important to walk out of a session with solutions in hand.
