New clients continue care with this provider

Hello. I'm Aalysha. Do you have a critic in your head who beats you up over the smallest mistakes? Do you doubt yourself, or procrastinate, and avoid facing the day? Maybe you've wondered how much your past traumas impact your daily life, relationships, and goals today. You want to imagine a day when you are able to think freely without worry; a day when you wake up feeling energized, pain-free, and fulfilled. I help people move into their full potential by addressing both past traumas and current issues of anxiety, sadness, burnout, addiction, self-doubt, and depression. In our sessions together, I'll provide compassion, honesty, and a safe place to share and grow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I like to acknowledge the likelihood that our first session may feel a bit 'all over the place.' I do like to begin with a goal-oriented question, but I also like to gain general background information to get to know you. It's also important to trust yourself and to not require yourself to share everything all at once. We will have more time together, and some things might take a bit more trust and comfortability before you are ready to talk about them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am easy to talk to and I enjoy humor. I am patient and genuine, and I believe that you are capable of achieving all of your mental and emotional health goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. From young adults to empty nesters, I am able to find common ground that unites us.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT strategies to help clients address distorted or maladaptive ways of thinking and learned patterns of unhelpful behavior. I support client in learning new positive coping skills that can help a person manage disturbances and improve daily functioning. Also, I work with clients in identifying distortions in thinking, challenging them, and offering alternative, more useful options.

EMDR

This model declares that the distress from trauma or other disturbing events occurs when there is a blockage in the process of interpreting and classifying these events. This treatment is not identified as talk therapy and the client’s psychological and emotional processing is effecting change, rather than the therapist’s interpretations. This allows the client to experience a feeling of empowerment over events that once caused them distress. I can use EMDR once it has been determined an appropriate option for a particular client.
