Hi, I'm Ashley, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Reiki II practitioner. I believe that somewhere underneath the anxiety, the self-doubt, and the patterns that keep repeating, there is a version of you that already knows the way. My job isn't to fix you. It's to create a space steady enough that you can actually hear yourself. Together we get curious about the thoughts that won't quiet down, the emotions that feel bigger than the moment, the behaviors that keep showing up even when you don't want them to, and what all of it is actually trying to tell you. I utilize a holistic approach, bringing tools into our work that help you understand what's happening in your mind and body when you're overwhelmed, so you can actually do something about it instead of just surviving it. But more than any method or modality, I show up as a real person walking alongside you, trusting that you are the expert on your own life. If you're ready to listen to that wiser part of yourself and create meaningful change, I'd be honored to walk with you.

Welcome — I'm Sergio Navigating life’s challenges takes courage, and seeking support is a powerful first step. I’m Sergio, a bilingual counselor (English/Español) with a deep commitment to helping individuals, couples, and families find clarity, healing, and direction. Before opening my private practice, I spent years as a healthcare executive—leading teams, shaping systems, and supporting people through complex transitions. That experience gave me a broad perspective and a deep understanding of how emotional, relational, and systemic factors impact our well-being. I bring that expertise into every session, combining strategic insight with heartfelt compassion. My strength lies in guiding others. Whether you're facing anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a steady hand and a safe space to explore what’s next. Together, we’ll uncover your strengths, work through barriers, and build a path toward meaningful change. You deserve support that’s both wise and warm. Let’s begin your journey, I'll hold the lantern, so you can find the path ahead — creando calma en la tormenta y claridad en medio del caos.

I’m a direct, honest therapist who believes real change happens when we stop pretending things are fine. I work especially well with individuals who feel stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, over-functioning, or putting others’ needs before their own. I help clients develop healthier boundaries, strengthen self-worth, and create relationships that feel more balanced and authentic. I understand the tug-of-war between wanting relief and wanting control — and how exhausting it is to live in that space. I also get how hard it is to find balance in a world that moves too fast and demands too much. If you’re tired of surface-level fixes, quick advice, or being told what you should do, we’ll probably work well together. I’m not a quick-fix or band-aid therapist. My goal is to help you slow things down, get honest, and reconnect with your truth — not the version of you shaped by pressure, expectations, or survival mode.

Perhaps you are struggling with your relationships, not sure how to fix things, or feel like you're repeating the same patterns in your life. You are not alone! Hi! I'm Shana, and it is my passion to help folks just like you. We all have seasons in our lives where we find ourselves...just...not okay. If this is you, you've come to the right place. Whether you are dealing with "stuckness" or overwhelm, cycles of depression or anxiety, or struggling with relationships, I am here to help. You'll have a safe space to process thoughts/feelings/behaviors, and you'll be met with compassion and a nonjudgmental presence, while we work together to find the way back to you. Hello, I’m A.J., a Licensed Master Level Social Worker from the U.P. of Michigan. Faith, Family, and Fellowship are things that I strive to live for daily. My faith is very important to me. I am involved in Men’s Ministry inside and outside of my church. Haggai 2:9 is a verse that is close to my family's heart: “The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house, says the Lord Almighty, in this place I will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty.” My goal and prayer is that I can help individuals move into a better place than they were when therapy first began. My wife and I have three boys and one grandson. Our family enjoys spending time outside on our 20-acre property “Creation Acres” or getting away camping. My boys and I enjoy spending time in the woods or on the lake. I graduated from Ferris State University in 2018 with my Master’s Degree in Social Work after attending Lake Superior State University completing Criminal Justice / Public Safety Emphasis Bachelor’s Degree and a Paramedic Technology Associate’s Degree in 2008. I have experience working directly with law enforcement as a dispatcher and working in the public safety field as a fire fighter and as an EMT. I currently work for the Michigan Department of Corrections as a mental health specialist. Prior to this career, I worked for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services as a foster care case manager and a juvenile justice / juvenile delinquency case manager. I look forward to working with you during your journey. NOTICE – Due to my current position with the Michigan Department of Corrections, I am unable to accept referrals or work with anyone on parole or probation.

My goal is to meet you where you are by bringing a compassionate approach backed by formal training and experience and be a part of your goals in the change process. I am very personable as well as professional and I do not believe in one-sided relationships. I have a multidisciplinary, eclectic approach to therapy in which I utilize techniques and principles from a variety of modalities to include Christian based. My counseling is geared toward treating the whole person from a biopsychosocial spiritual standpoint. Some of the experiences that have contributed to my professional identity and approach to mental health treatment are my formal education at Pensacola Christian College where I received a BA in Pastoral Ministry and Liberty University where I received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked as a therapist under regulatory agencies for 6 years and have worked in Christian Ministry since my ministerial ordination in 2003. Demographics I have served have included inpatient and outpatient care, private practice, substance abuse issues, psychotic spectrum disorders, gender identity issues, personality disorders, sex addiction, family and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Spirituality, and men’s issues. My experiences as a combat military veteran, teacher, father, husband, and a person who has experienced my own traumas and failures have contributed to my professional development. I look forward to getting to know you!

My path to becoming your therapist is somewhat unique compared to others in the field. Over the years, I have built a diverse professional background that began with a career in sales. I then transitioned into the Long-Term Care Industry, where I served as both an Admissions and Marketing Director and a Director of Social Services. In addition to these roles, I have been actively involved in my community, working as an HIV/AIDS Intervention Specialist and a Substance Abuse Counselor. For a decade, I also had the privilege of serving as a Licensed Pastor. On a personal level, my life has been enriched by becoming a husband, a father, and more recently, a grandfather. Throughout my journey, I have experienced many of life’s joys and victories. At the same time, I have learned valuable lessons from self-inflicted setbacks and from dealing with the consequences of choices that cannot be changed.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, but more than that, I work with people who feel stuck in patterns they understand but still can’t seem to break. Maybe it shows up in relationships that feel familiar but painful, putting others first so you don’t lose them, or slipping back into old habits when emotions become overwhelming. You’re not broken. You are repeating a pattern that once kept you safe but now keeps you stuck. I help clients who look strong and “put together” on the outside, but internally feel disconnected, unseen, or like they’re always fighting themselves. You might know why you do what you do because you’ve read the books, tried therapy before, told yourself you’d choose differently, and yet something still pulls you back. My approach is real, honest, and compassionate. We won’t just talk about the surface problem. We’ll work with the deeper beliefs and emotional wiring underneath it. Together, we identify what keeps you abandoning yourself, and begin rebuilding from a place of self-trust, worthiness, and grounded clarity.

I often use humor in my therapy sessions as I believe creating a safe space and comfortable environment for all is most important. I think that you are the expert in your treatment. You get to decide what we focus on. I am here to be your spirit or travel guide through your life journey. We live in stressful times, and sometimes, our minds can be our worst enemy. Whether you're struggling with self-doubt, negative thoughts, thoughts of self-harm, or maybe even suicidal thoughts, I can help! Let's work together to build coping skills to face life's challenges. As a therapist with a disability, I have unique insight into those who think differently and make therapy enjoyable.

Everyone has a story and a unique voice. Let me help you find yours. I practice cultural competency, cultivating awareness of stagnant emotions through mindfulness, and exploring strengths and passions. I hope to fully support you during this moment in your life and help you meet your goals. I’m passionate about helping people become aware of the link between body and mind, as they work toward discovering their authentic selves. Sometimes, facilitating change can be overwhelming. I can help you through those times with evidenced-based therapies, including seeking safety and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. I have extensive experience working with clients of all ages, families, and groups on issues of addiction, blended families, divorce, trauma, and spirituality. I have also participated in immersion and liberation psychology programs in Mexico City and El Salvador. I’ve been using a video platform with my clients for many years. It helps make therapy more accessible, more convenient, and I’ve found it to be just as effective. Also, clients can practice with online tools during and after our sessions. I love animals, dance fitness, especially Zumba, all types of yoga including earning a Yoga Alliance accredited 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I love to offer guidance to improve overall mental well-being and quality of life.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of professional mental health experience. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2008 and my Master's degree in Counselor Education, with a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, in 2012. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, which has given me a wide range of clinical experience and allowed me to work with clients from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds. I am radical and revolutionary in thought and praxis and believe in a liberated and equitable world for all people. Clients who tend to be attracted to me are those who may struggle with a lack of confidence and self-esteem, those who are plagued with "Imposter Syndrome", and those who identify as people-pleasers. I also work with People of Color on healing internalized oppression. My clients are often very bright and self-aware but feel they are missing the tools, accountability and higher-level knowledge to get themselves into action and start making tangible, concrete progress. Additional areas of focus: Addictions, LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Depression, Coping with life changes, Life Purpose, Multicultural Concerns, Prejudice and Discrimination, Self-Love, Women's Issues Therapy does not have to be a years-long, overwhelming or deeply painful process. Many people I have worked with have remarked that they were surprised at how quickly they were able to feel a sense of progress, where they felt stagnant for years or decades prior. While I am very good at what I do, I can only meet you as far and as deep as you are willing to go yourself. Those who are proactive about their healing work and take responsibility tend to make the most progress in the least amount of time.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Spirituality, is filtering therapists in Florida that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
