With over 17 years of experience in social services and 7 years as a practicing therapist, I have developed a deep appreciation for the power of connection, the courage of my clients, and the transformative nature of safe, consistent therapeutic work. My motivation to work in mental health stems from witnessing, time and again, the profound change that occurs when individuals are truly seen, heard, and supported in a space where they feel emotionally safe.
Thank you for taking the first step of courage and making yourself a priority today. Opening yourself up and being vulnerable can be a tremendous step to your healing process. As Brene Brown says, “Vulnerability is not winning or losing, it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.” You are showing up for yourself today! Although the first steps can be overwhelming, I can walk with you and help guide you on the journey of healing and peace. I will always provide a safe space of acceptance and non-judgement for you to share your emotional pain, grow to love and be kind to yourself, and find the peace you deserve to heal. Remember that you are worthy and deserving of being free of the emotional pain you are experiencing. Be kind to yourself.
**If you are viewing my profile for your child (3-17 years of age), I provide a calming and accepting space to assist with regulating your child's emotions. If your child is experiencing symptoms of anxiety, ADHD or difficulty focusing due to inattention or hyperactivity, or your child is lacking motivation and seems more irritable and angrier than usual, I can teach your child coping skills and strategies.

I understand that "starting counseling" or finding a new therapist can seem overwhelming. That “exhausted-before-I-even-begin” feeling is why I believe so deeply in the efficacy of "telehealth" counseling. . With telehealth, you can tuck into whatever space allows you to feel most at ease. With your coffee or your dog nearby, you don't have to leave your world to talk about your world. My clients often tell me they come into therapy feeling nervous or overwhelmed and eventually find themselves feeling comfortable, understood, and even looking forward to our sessions. That matters to me.

Hi, I’m Dr. Catherine T. Revak, DSW, LCSW—but please, call me Cate. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a traditional one, and each chapter of my life has shaped how I show up for clients today. I served in the United States Air Force and spent many years in the financial services industry, experiences that taught me how to navigate complexity, hold difficult conversations, and remain present during times of stress and uncertainty. Later, I returned to school at the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, and completed both my master’s and doctoral degrees in social work. My clinical training focused on veterans’ mental health, grief, loss, and bereavement. My time working at the VA and in hospice care deeply influenced my approach to therapy, reinforcing the importance of compassion, attunement, and the healing power of being truly witnessed. In therapy, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I draw from psychodynamic, narrative, and trauma-informed approaches, but at the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself. Whether you are navigating grief, transition, or uncertainty, I walk alongside you as you find meaning, connection, and a way forward that honors your experience.

My therapy style is that I serve clients from a client- centered and holistic perspective. I have worked in child welfare, substance use, and mental health. I have worked with those affected by trauma. I serve children, adults, adolescents, geriatric, LGBTQIA+ and know clients are master of their life. My approach is to listen to client’s story, be clients centered, listen to their story, ask about their support system, and be present in each session. Person served are the expert in your life. My role is to journey alongside you to help you to live your best, purposeful, most fulfilled life to feel empowered to continue to journey along. I encourage patients to feel motivated for the next steps in the process. I utilized the client’s/ family’s strengths and encourage them to realize that they can make changes within their lives. I’m empathetic, compassionate, a good listener, flexible, dedicated, hardworking and adaptable. I work well independently. Modalities are based on the client situation and how I can best help client. I utilize various evidenced based treatment modalities. I don’t have all the answers, and I am here to support you and journey with you.
