Erica DeSaussure
Finding a safe, confidential space to open up about your experiences and emotions isn’t easy. Whether you are navigating personal mental health hurdles or facing distance and miscommunication in your relationship, you do not have to figure it out alone. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, my goal is to provide a secure environment where you can comfortably embrace vulnerability, feel truly heard, and gain practical tools for meaningful change.
Strengths
Effective therapy is never a one-size-fits-all process. My approach adapts dynamically to what you need most in any given session. Some days call for a quiet, non-judgmental harbor where I step back, hold space, and allow you to process deep emotions without interruption. Other days require an active partner who will respectfully challenge unhelpful patterns, push back on distorted thinking, and keep you accountable to your goals. You get both: deep emotional safety paired with direct, constructive guidance.
Origin story
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep fascination with how human beings connect, heal, and navigate love. Early on, I recognized how profoundly our upbringing and childhood environments dictate the way we move through the world—influencing everything from our self-worth to how we communicate with partners, friends, and colleagues. I entered this field because I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel truly safe, seen, and supported. Witnessing clients unlearn painful relational patterns, heal early attachment wounds, and discover their own resilience is the most rewarding part of my practice.
