I know the idea of going to therapy can be a bit overwhelming. You may already be dealing with debilitating anxiety, depression, OCD, or other mental health concerns – so adding therapy to your plate may seem like a lot. But take it from someone who’s been in your shoes: therapy can change your life. It WILL change your life. As a warm, down-to-earth therapist in Florida with over a decade of experience, I’m ready to meet you wherever you are in your mental health journey, always free from judgment, and empower you to learn how to genuinely love who you are, thrive in relationships, and finally enjoy your life!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The most important aspect of therapy is being comfortable with your therapist. Because when you feel relaxed, validated, accepted, and free to be yourself, powerful changes can happen. I take a down-to-earth, relatable approach to therapy. Why? Because I’ve been there! In our first session together, we’ll work on establishing a healthy, trusting therapeutic relationship, discuss your challenges and goals, and take the first steps to help you find true life fulfillment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapy doesn’t have to be boring, heavy, and all doom and gloom if you don’t want it to be. My therapy approach is unique because I encourage video games, board games, mindfulness, and art in our sessions together. I also incorporate humor where appropriate, along with more traditional coping methods, to help decrease anxiety, depression, and troubling mental health disorder symptoms. I provide space to put yourself first in our sessions and do whatever I can to make therapy effective and enjoyable

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is considered the “gold standard” in psychotherapy and has been proven highly effective in treating a wide range of mental health disorders. This therapeutic method explores how thoughts, behaviors, and emotions intertwine and helps you develop the tools to change maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. When you change one, typically the behavior, you can make even more positive changes. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a science-based treatment method that helps you challenge your thoughts and identify cognitive distortions. Using CBT, I’ll help you develop and improve valuable skills such as communication, conflict resolution, anger management, job-seeking, problem-solving, and boundary-setting skills. We’ll practice these skills in our sessions together in a safe and secure environment so you can effectively use them outside of therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy centers on the belief that you are the expert on your own life, not me, your therapist. While I am an expert in therapy, you know what’s best for you. I will meet you where you are in your mental health journey, nonjudgmentally and empathetically. Because many clients often feel like they aren’t being heard outside of therapy, this approach allows you autonomy and allows you to guide our sessions together. Our relationship is equal, which is empowering because it helps you realize you have more control than you may think.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a powerful tool to use inside and outside of therapy. It helps you stay in the present moment and prevents you from spiraling into maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. I’ll help you learn how to use relaxation techniques such as guided meditations, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, and visualization so you can feel more in control of your emotions. And if you have trouble getting there, don’t worry. I’ll help ground you and walk you through how to do these mindfulness techniques with patience, understanding, and compassion.
