Welcome, my name is Erika Gobbi. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience. I specialize in working with pre-teens, teenagers, college students and young adults, but I have worked with all ages. My primary areas of focus are self-harming, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, social skills, cultural differences, life transitions, bullying/social isolation, school anxiety, family conflict, peer pressure, and gender identity. I am committed to fostering a safe and understanding environment for healing and growth. A little more about myself — I was born in Venezuela and raised in Aruba. I am multilingual (Spanish, English, Papiamento, and Italian). I came to the states when I was 18 years old and currently reside in Orlando, Florida. I spend my free time with my two pups and husband traveling, fostering animals, and spending time outdoors. Using evidence-based practices as well as my years of experience, I am here to guide you or your loved one on their journey to a healthier, more fulfilling life. Hopefully you find me a good match and we can get started on the mental wellness journey together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During a client's first therapy session, they can expect several key elements from initial paperwork to feedback and planning. The goal of the initial session is to gather background history, review assessments taken prior to the first session, create treatment goals, and most importantly build rapport. Overall, the first therapy session aims to create a foundation for the therapeutic relationship, clarify goals, and begin the process of exploration and support.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a mental health therapist is my ability to empathize deeply with my clients. I strive to understand their experiences, emotions, and perspectives without judgment, allowing me to build a strong therapeutic alliance. This empathy enables me to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, validated, and respected. It also enhances my ability to tailor interventions and approaches that are meaningful and effective for each individual's unique needs and challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This approach focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It involves practical techniques to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs and develop healthier coping strategies.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Techniques derived from mindfulness practices, such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which help clients cultivate present-moment awareness and reduce anxiety or depression symptoms.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Emphasizes identifying and building upon the client's strengths and resources to create solutions and achieve specific goals, rather than focusing extensively on the problem itself.
