I continued my studies at Florida International University to earn a Master of Science with a major in Psychology and became a Certified Sex Therapist in 2008. They will encourage clear communication, authenticity, patience and compassion both for yourself and others. Accountability is a necessary part of any therapeutic relationship. I require at least 24 hours' notice prior to cancelling your scheduled appointment. Same day cancellations or no shows are subject to a Grow therapy fee of $50. Similarly, if I have to cancel within 24 hours' notice your next session will be free. The therapy process is engaged, dynamic and can be immensely satisfying. Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling.
