New to Grow
Welcome—I'm glad you're here. Seeking support is a brave step and I aim to create a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly, explore what matters to you, and find practical ways to move forward. Whether you're facing a sudden crisis or a long-standing struggle, we'll work together at a pace that feels safe and productive, honoring your values and strengths as we clarify goals and build lasting skills. I provide practical, evidence-informed clinical care to adults seeking clearer thinking, steadier emotion, and healthier relationships. The desire to know yourself and to be truly known by others is central to a life worth living; I respect the courage it takes to face difficult patterns and make lasting change. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 25 years’ experience helping people navigate life challenges.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My work is collaborative and grounded in a clear formulation of your history and current functioning. I pay close attention to developmental and trauma histories because trauma commonly underlies patterns of avoidance, emotional dysregulation, intrusive memories, hypervigilance, negative beliefs about oneself, and difficulties with trust and intimacy. Assessment typically includes a careful trauma history, symptom screening, and risk evaluation, and treatment is tailored to your readiness—drawing from trauma-focused CBT, cognitive processing where appropriate, alongside skills training in emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness to support durable change.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
* (Extensive clinical experience) - Over 25 years working with adults across both common and complex presentations. *(Consistently warm, nonjudgmental presence) - A safe space for disclosure and growth while offering compassionate clinical guidance that respects client autonomy. *(Outcomes-focused and practical) - Prioritizes durable skill-building to reduce symptoms, improve relationship functioning, and restore agency and purpose. *(Evidence-based and adaptable interventions) - Proficient in trauma-focused CBT, cognitive processing approaches, and targeted skills training (emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness), matched to each client’s readiness and goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
*Adults seeking individual therapy for anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation. *People with trauma histories or PTSD, including complex childhood trauma and survivors of abuse. *Couples addressing marital or premarital concerns, conflict, trust, and intimacy issues. *Individuals navigating life transitions (career change, divorce, relocation, retirement). *Those coping with grief and loss. *Parents struggling with parenting challenges, co-parenting, or attachment concerns. *People facing infertility-related stress and relationship impacts. *Clients who want practical, skills-based work (emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness) and measurable progress.) *Those who prefer a collaborative, formulation-driven, evidence-based approach and are ready to engage in short or long-term therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to set clear goals and an agenda. In session we map how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact, and test unhelpful beliefs to develop more balanced thinking. Sessions include practical skills training (behavioral activation, exposure, relaxation, cognitive restructuring) and brief between-session homework to practice new behaviors. Progress is tracked regularly so we can adjust the plan and reinforce meaningful change.
Narrative
I use narrative therapy to externalize and reframe problematic stories. This approach helps to restores a sense of control and reduces the power problems have over your identity and relationships. We work together to treat the problem as separate from you so we can examine how it affects your life without blaming you.
Faith based therapy
I use faith based therapy when clients want spiritual resources included. In session we explore how your faith shapes meaning, values, and coping; integrate prayer, scripture, or spiritual practices you find helpful; and use faith-consistent language when reframing thoughts, setting goals, and building resilience. Treatment remains collaborative and evidence-informed—I respect your beliefs, maintain clinical boundaries and combine spiritual resources with practical skills.
