Hi there! Many of us struggle in silence to overcome the challenges we face, but you no longer have to face that battle alone. From someone who has had their own personal struggles with mental health, I want you to know that you are not alone. I strive to create a space for you to feel seen, heard, and safe. As someone who has been to therapy, I understand how difficult it can be to take that next step. Finding the right therapist can be hard. Finding someone to support you, challenge you, and hold space for the things most people in our life have no idea we are facing. I would be honored to be that space for you. I hope we can work together to help you reach your goals. While the first step is acknowledging the change you need, it takes courage to recognize you need some guidance. It takes even more courage to initiate those first steps towards improving your life.

Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social. Helping and supporting others has been a driving factor in my life; therefore, I began my career as a teacher. My education and experience in the classroom greatly influenced me; however, I saw how difficult it is to learn when one is struggling with many emotional and mental health needs. While in graduate school, I transitioned to working with families in more of a case management role. During that time, I started noticing how the adults I worked with were often struggling and had not received the help they needed. After completing graduate school, I began working in an inpatient hospital that treats mental health and chemical dependency. After several years working with patients individually and facilitating group therapy, I transitioned to managing an intensive outpatient mental health program for senior adults. In this role, I facilitated group therapy and met with patients individually at times. I greatly enjoyed getting to know my clients and cheering alongside them as they made progress. While I value group therapy, I recognize that it is not the right fit for everyone. Therefore, I have set up a private practice to meet the needs of individuals in ways I was unable to do in previous roles. I believe change is possible and that each person has strengths and life experiences that they can draw upon to help themselves move forward. My passion is helping clients utilize what they already have, learn additional tools for coping, and develop healthier ways of thinking.

I graduated Eastern Michigan University with a major in psychology and a minor in nutrition in 2007. I completed my PhD program at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2014. During that time period I worked with patients in outpatient and inpatient settings including the University psychology clinic, Wayne State Family Medicine Center, Providence Alaska Family Medicine Center, and Providence Alaska inpatient services.I’m a clinical psychologist (PhD) specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, and the mind–body impact of stress. My approach is warm, relational, and psychodynamic — I help you understand not just what you’re feeling, but why it keeps happening. Many of my clients come to me after trying short-term or skills-only therapy and not feeling truly understood. Together, we look at the deeper patterns shaped by past experiences, trauma, and relationships. This includes medical trauma, chronic illness, health anxiety, and eating issues rooted in shame or self-criticism. I offer teletherapy to adults who want thoughtful, insight-oriented work that leads to lasting change.

THERAPY FOR WOMEN IN MIDLIFE — INCLUDING THERAPISTS You're the one others rely on — at work and at home. You show up for everyone. You keep everything running — managing your career and your household, and often growing kids and aging parents at the same time. Somewhere along the way, you stopped making it onto your own list. It's all becoming too heavy — now you're starting to feel it, emotionally and physically. Therapy at Seaside is a space to pause, reflect, and start to feel like yourself again. HI, I'M GAIL — THERAPIST & OWNER OF SEASIDE MENTAL WELLNESS. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly 30 years in the field, much of it spent inside the healthcare system, supporting women through some of the most significant moments of their lives. IN MIDLIFE, IT'S RARELY JUST ONE THING. The anxiety that increases in your late 30s. The moment in your 40s when you catch yourself thinking, "I don't feel like myself anymore". A marriage, a career, even your body — things that stop fitting in your 50s. These chapters are part of the same story. The anxiety, the burnout, the transitions, the emotional side of perimenopause tend to arrive at once, overlapping one another. We can untangle this together. SEASIDE IS RECOGNIZED LOCALLY AND TRUSTED STATEWIDE: SRQ Magazine's 2026 Platinum Winner (Best Local Mental Health Service) and 2025 Silver Winner (Best Local Therapist) , plus Guide to Florida's 2026 (Best Individual Therapist) and 2025 Regional Winner (Best Therapy Practice). SEASIDE IS BASED IN LAKEWOOD RANCH, serving women in Bradenton and Sarasota — and across the Gulf Coast, from Tampa to Naples. All sessions are online, so support fits your life, without the traffic, the waiting room, or the time off work.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in painful patterns that make it hard to manage daily life, relationships, or your sense of self-worth. Sometimes these struggles are tied to current life challenges, and other times they are connected to earlier experiences that continue to affect how you feel, relate to others, and respond to stress today. Therapy can help you better understand what is going on and begin making meaningful changes. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking licensed psychotherapist and the author of Healing Childhood Trauma. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, and relationship difficulties. I help clients explore the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building healthier ways of coping, relating, and moving through daily life. Please note: I accept insurance for individual therapy; however, specialized couples counseling and family therapy are offered exclusively on a private-pay basis. My approach is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I work with respect for your pace and aim to create a space where you can better understand your experiences, work through emotional pain, and build more secure patterns in your life and relationships. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I support you through this process with the goal of helping you feel more secure, more confident, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. Hola! If you are reading this you have stepped out of your comfort zone and are exploring who you can trust with your innermost thoughts and feelings. As a mental health professional, I have seen first-hand the plight of the human condition. Throughout the past 20+ years, I have gained incredible experience & insight that have uniquely prepared me for this work. As a licensed clinical social worker I have served diverse populations well, throughout the New York Tri-State area as well as in Florida's Southwest & Central areas since 2013 in various capacities. From my own curative journey I have borrowed a whole-person approach: mind, body, & soul. There is no "magic pill," or quick fixes when it comes to harnessing sustainable mental wellness. It has been my personal experience that this process can lead to deep restoration from the layers of adversity. Each layer will reveal itself in its own time. This is why therapy will look different for everyone at different stages of life. I would be honored to support you in exploring what hurts, frustrates, confuses, & a host of other emotions that come up when revisiting difficult childhood experiences, losses, grievances, life transitions, & postpartum. As a trauma-informed & trauma-responsive professional, I will hold a non-judgmental space, where you will be patiently supported and spurred on along your therapeutic journey. You will be provided with a safe place where you can explore your thoughts & emotions to manifest a shift in your perspective developing the clarity, growth, peace, & healing you so desire.

Veronica Montoya has experience working with all ages, including adults, young adults, teens/adolescents, and children. She has worked with people in a broad range of areas, including anxiety, depression, substance use, parent-child relationships, self-esteem, decision-making issues, and body image issues. The most important aspect of my work with you will be to build a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship in which we can together work through whatever difficulties you may be facing. Being a therapist is my first career. I studied psychology with a minor in Spanish for my bachelor's degree and have a master's degree in mental health counseling (which led to me becoming a licensed mental health counselor). There are many reasons I am well-suited to be a therapist but to begin, I am nonjudgmental, caring, empathetic, and open. I have worked in a variety of areas, including private practice, residential treatment centers with adults and teens, and specialized therapeutic foster care with children. I have also worked with everyone from infants and toddlers to seniors. These various settings help me take a holistic approach when working with my clients.
