I am a therapist committed to helping individuals through life transitions. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20+ years of experience. Life can often hand us things that we are not prepared for. Events that can lead to anxiety, depression, or an overall feeling of not knowing what to do or how to cope. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to help my clients work through the twists and turns of life. I'm passionate about helping others find their way, being a nonjudgmental listener, and providing a safe space to share openly.
The first session will focus on a conversation about why you are seeking therapy, what you are feeling, and what you would like for life to look like. I will ask a few questions along the way to help assess how to best help you. You will get to know me and we will talk openly to see if we are a good fit for one another.
I bring a non-judgmental, comfortable approach so that clients feel at ease talking and sharing. The best therapy happens when we can be honest with ourselves and with others, but this can only happen in a comfortable and safe space.
I love working with individuals from early adulthood to the aging population that are experiencing life changes and transitions. Those individuals who are beginning careers, college, relationships; those who are facing retirement, empty nesting, divorce and loss. I enjoy helping individuals through all the spectrums of life changes and challenges.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients understand the connection between thoughts and behaviors. I help them identify how changing thought processes along with behavioral activation can lead to significant changes.
Utilizing 6-8 sessions, I help clients identify their problems, goals and simple direct solutions to change.
Utilizing grief therapy I help clients process their loss, identify how to move through the feelings associated with the loss and support them through their grief journey.
