Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working as a therapist for over two decades after graduating from Fordham University with a Masters degree in Social Work. I have a wide variety of experience working with disorders such as anxiety, depression and everyday life challenges. I have successfully assisted many people in making changes by creating a setting that is non judgmental and collaborative.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will discuss our expectations for therapy, your perception of the problems at present and create some short terms goals in order to move forward with a clear understanding of treatment needs. You will leave the session with some beginning strategies for managing mood and behavior.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that one of the most important building blocks to change is the relationship between therapist and client. I enjoy helping people make desired change and the special connection that is formed during the therapeutic process. I will listen without judgement, allow you to feel heard and give you a safe space where you can begin to trust.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

By challenging and helping to change cognitive distortions (thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and their associated behaviors and helping patients to develop coping strategies that target solving current problems. I have assisted many people in managing life challenges and creating desired change.

Compassion Focused

Compassion Focused Therapy is designed to help individuals who struggle with self-criticism and shame. It encourages self-compassion and understanding, aiming to improve emotional regulation and well-being by fostering a kinder relationship with oneself.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy supports individuals dealing with the loss of a loved one. It helps them process their emotions, understand the stages of grief, and find ways to adjust to life after loss. It often includes exploring emotions such as sadness, anger, and guilt.

Supportive

Supportive therapy provides emotional support and encouragement to clients. It focuses on strengthening coping mechanisms, offering reassurance, and helping individuals manage stress, without delving deeply into underlying psychological issues. It’s often used for clients with chronic illness or during challenging life transitions.
