New clients continue care with this provider

I am a licensed therapist who is passionate about helping clients navigate burnout. I am passionate because I have been there and was tired of getting unhelpful answers from people who meant well but did not seem to understand. Advice like ‘sleep it off’ and ‘take a deep breath’ we're common and it felt like I was putting a bandaid on a gaping wound. I promise, life does not need to be a constant cycle of burning out and starting again. Through our work together we will explore ways to ‘stitch’ the gaping wound so you are actually able to heal and move towards a more balanced life. Through our work together I will use imagery and analogies to help you better understand how and why your body and mind is reacting the way it is. Like a birds eye view, I am able to see some of the signs that are right in front of you but are too zoomed in to see clearly. In a non-judgmental space I use education and a bit of humor to help you see the full picture and move towards a healthier balance.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I love online therapy because it feels more causal than in office sessions. I ask the stereotypical ‘what brings you to therapy’ or ‘how was your week’ and you direct the conversation from there. We will discuss things that are bothering you and work towards finding a way forward. No scary therapy terms or secretly judging you, just open and honest communication and collaboration.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work with burnt out professionals who have realized that their past way of thinking is no longer working. Their mental health was never a priority, but not taking care of themselves is making it hard to keep their current pace. I have been there and it was a miserable place to be. With burnout one thing is inevitable, either you slow down and make changes or your body will do the slowing down for you and take extreme measures. So let’s get in front of that all or nothing scenario.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Helping compassionate professionals feel more in control of their work-life balance without the pressure of giving everything 110% Despite being good at their job and finding meaning in what they do, my clients find that balancing their life outside of work has left them feeling overwhelmed and drained. Before clients come to see me, they don’t know what a balanced life looks like or if it is even possible. They worry that they have gone too far down their chosen path and there is no turning back. They fear that they will never reconnect with family and friends or find joy outside of work again. Putting all their energy into work has left them tired and unsure how to break the cycle.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have seen EMDR do wonders for my clients. The main idea behind EMDR is connecting your rational and emotional thoughts in order to have a more well rounded view of a past event. We do this by using side to side motions to encourage the brain to make this connection. This can be done by following an object across your screen, having a noise go from ear to ear in your headphones or tapping on each shoulder or leg. With EMDR we are able to re-process the negative thoughts and emotions attached to a painful memory in order to not feel stuck in the past. Some say magic while others say groundbreaking science, but either way clients are able to process their thoughts in a way that cuts through years of simply talking about and reliving their trauma.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Clients who come to see me are looking for a way out of their current situation. They are exhausted by the current cycle and are looking for a new perspective and plan to help them move forward. With a solution focused lens we will look at the problems at hand and find the most helpful way to work through them. These solutions will be tailored to your wants and needs and help you find a clear and sustainable path moving forward.

Eclectic

It is hard to gain perspective on a difficult personal situation, let alone finding a clear path forward. Expressive arts techniques such as journaling, art and imagery are a way to shift your current way of thinking and find a new perspective on your current situation. Like a birds eye view, these techniques help you see some of the signs that are right in front of you but are too zoomed in to see clearly. Through expressive arts, you will learn see situations from this new perspective and find a confident path forward. Expressive Arts Techniques Include:
