Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Connecticut. I received my degree from Fairfield University and have over 20 years experience specializing in working with adults managing stress, anxiety, chronic illness, relationship issues and life transitions. I prefer an integrative approach to meet you where you are at in your life. My goal is to help you achieve your goals.
If you’re here, you may be carrying experiences that still show up in your body, your thoughts, or your relationships — even if those events happened long ago. You might feel on edge, numb, easily triggered, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself or others. If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken. Your nervous system learned how to survive, and now it may need support learning how to feel safe again.
My name is Amy, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, also licensed in New Jersey and Connecticut. I’ve been practicing for 13 years and earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. While I’ve worked with a wide range of concerns — including anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger, grief, and relationship challenges — I specialize in trauma working with PTSD and Complex PTSD.
I work with clients who have experienced trauma in many forms, including childhood abuse or neglect, chronic stress, relational trauma, and significant life disruptions. My approach is trauma-informed, which means I move at your pace, prioritize your sense of safety, and respect your boundaries. You are always in control of what you share and when. Therapy is not about forcing yourself to “relive” anything — it’s about helping your nervous system feel safer and helping you reclaim your sense of choice and agency.

Telehealth Tips
If you're used to seeing your mental health professional in their office, it may take some time to adjust to this new process. Take heart that our patients typically find video conferencing beneficial.
Make a list of the main symptoms you want to address in the conversation. Also be sure to indicate when your symptoms started, what tends to exacerbate them, and what, if anything, seems to soothe them.
Write down questions.
Remember that mental health appointments are a two-way street. This is your chance to ask questions you have about your symptoms, brain scan, diagnosis, and treatment. Having a list of questions ready can help you remember to ask them.
Have your medical and psychiatric history handy.
Your therapist may ask questions about past medical or psychological issues in addition to inquiring about names and dosages of medications you have taken. Having this information available can save precious minutes during your appointment so you can spend more time talking about how you are going to get healthy.
Minimize distractions and choose a quiet, comfortable spot
One of the best strategies to ensure a meaningful appointment is to eliminate distractions. Close your door, turn off the notifications on your phone, and make sure someone is watching the kids so you can focus. Being able to hear clearly is another important element of an effective mental Tele-Health Zoom appointment.
Try to minimize any background noise, such as the TV, the washing machine, or a barking dog. In addition, it's important that you feel comfortable in your setting during your appointment. Find a spot where you are relaxed and at ease.
Troubleshoot technology beforehand.
Find out what technology will be used and make sure you know how to use it prior to your appointment. Are you signed up for Zoom, Skype, or another video conferencing app? Do you know how it works? If you have never used the app before, do a practice call with a friend beforehand so you can work out the kinks.
Set a reminder to keep appointment.
Most of us can benefit from helpful reminders and alerts from our digital calendars. Setting your calendar to send you an alert 5-10 minutes prior to your virtual session can give you the time to gather your lists and questions and to prepare yourself mentally. Reminders can be especially critical if you have a tendency to be forgetful or inattentive.
Unblock your phone.
If you're doing a phone call, make sure your phone isn't set to block unknown callers and answer your phone at the designated time even if it shows that it's from an unknown caller.
DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Take notes and/or ask for a recap.

I am passionate about helping people navigate the challenges of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside clients in community mental health centers, academic medical settings, and private practice, supporting them as they heal, grow, and discover what’s possible for their lives.
I am also deeply passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge—I’ve taught college courses on addiction treatment and have led trainings for other therapists on how to provide effective, compassionate care. I earned my graduate degree from the University of Chicago.
When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me enjoying a good book, trying out a new recipe, or enjoying quiet moments with my spouse and our two cats.
From an early age, I discovered a strong passion for helping others. During high school, I was deeply influenced by my favorite teacher, a student of renowned psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg, best known for his theory on the stages of moral development. Her mentorship inspired me to pursue a career in the helping professions, where I could make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
I went on to earn my undergraduate degree in Human Services with a minor in Gerontology, laying the foundation for a career focused on compassion, advocacy, and evidence-based practice. Over the years, I have specialized in working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.
In my clinical work, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), and supportive counseling. My approach is grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to fostering resilience and personal growth.
There are lots of ups and downs in life… twists… and turns. Some people choose to navigate difficulties alone. However, you are likely reading this because you are tired of doing it all by yourself. You’re thinking about a little help and support. Reaching for help is a wise thing. It is a sign of health that I value deeply.
I am Jim Hughes. I have over 30 years of experience as a Specialty Clinician. I'm a former faculty member of the UMASS STRESS REDUCTION CLINIC that was featured on Bill Moyers' Healing and the Mind. Moved by the profound transformations I witnessed, I moved east and attended graduate school as I worked at Wellspring, a long-term therapeutic community in Bethlehem Connecticut with mentor Richard Beauvais. Upon graduation, I worked for the renowned UMASS STRESS REDUCTION CLINIC with Jon Kabat-Zinn teaching meditation and stress reduction in the hospital.
In all my endeavors, mindfulness-based stress reduction is the key ingredient to help heal through difficult emotional and medical issues, challenging adult relationships, intimacy issues, anxiety, depression, and internet and pornography addiction.
In addition, I am particularly interested in helping people with chronic stress and anxiety and medical problems such as panic attacks, stress, anxiety, heart disease, hypertension, A1C issues, diabetes, chronic pain, cancer and other medical issues.

Hi, I’m Jenny! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages, but I especially enjoy helping adults navigate the ups and downs of life. My background includes working in community agencies, private practice, and with military families, which has given me a wide range of experience with challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and self-esteem struggles.
As a military spouse myself, I understand firsthand how stressful transitions, deployments, and constant changes can feel. I bring that personal perspective into my work, along with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
I am a licensed clinical therapist for over 25 years with a focus on helping individuals navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, and problem-solving. My approach is grounded in creating a supportive and respectful space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I believe that meaningful change begins with being seen, not just for your struggles, but for your strengths.
Using a combination of strength-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing, I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, clarify goals, and develop effective strategies for growth and resilience. I aim to support you in moving forward with clarity and confidence.
