Hello, my name is Karen and I am a licensed therapist. The main reason I became a therapist is because I have always had a passion for helping people. And I've always believed that with a little help and guidance, we can all grow to be our best selves. I currently work with adults and have experience with criminal justice matters, drugs and alcohol, and other behavioral matters.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

On your first visit, you can expect to be listened to very attentively. Every story is important, and every story should be heard. We will spend time exploring the reasons you have decided to seek therapy. And from there, we will begin to build a partnership and a therapeutic relationship that will hopefully be the start of your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as an individual are listening to other and being able to empathize. Everybody's struggle is different, nevertheless, we all share commonalities such as pain, grief, depression, anxiety, that we can identify with. It's important that no one feels that they are alone in the world. It's important to feel supported and heard.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My experience includes working within adult outpatient for various non-profits approximately five years. I started out as a case manager, working within the community helping individuals live better lives by navigating through entitlement programs, and providing additional support. I worked as a case manager for five years as well. I continue to work with many different adult populations, gaining their trust at a most difficult time. It is these skills I continue to appreciate and use as a therapist, while providing much needed support and encouragement.
