(she/her)
Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Connecticut. I received my Masters from Post University and have been practicing for 5 years. I help adults and couples feeling stressed or having a hard time functioning, explore solutions to living well-balanced and happier lives. With a little help, guidance, and opportunity, we can work together to achieving personal goals with positive outcomes.
On your first visit, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges that has brought you to therapy. You can expect to be listened to very attentively. Your story is very important, and I am very interested in hearing it. From there, we will begin to build a partnership and a therapeutic relationship that will hopefully be the start of your journey. After our first session, we can plan to further explore the challenges you face and set up follow-up sessions.
Having worked with adults and couples for the past 5 years, I've developed a style for attentively listening to others, empathize, and build trust and rapport. Everybody's struggle is different, nevertheless, we all share commonalities such as pain, grief, depression, anxiety, that we can identify with. It's important that no one feels alone. It's also important that individuals feel supported and heard. The outcome of your therapy experience is very important, making it extremely necessary for me to Identify the root cause of any challenges, develop a tailored plan with measurable goals, and making sure we stay on track for progress, as well as making any adjustments to your plan if needed.
I love working with adults and couples who may have hit a rough patch in life, but are open to learning news ways of coping to promote inner growth, healing, and a different path to achieving healthier solutions. I have experience working with criminal justice populations, drug and alcohol addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health related specialties such as bipolar disorder, explosive disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and other areas making it difficult for a person to function on a daily basis.
