Hi. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master's Degree from Fordham University and have been practicing since 2000. I help people from young adults to older adults struggling with mental health issues ranging from anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, self esteem/self worth and marriage and couples issues. I understand not one type of therapy works for everyone so I utilize a multitude of different therapies in my practice to help people learn, heal and grow to live their best lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will have a getting to know each other time. This is where the client can ask about my experience and history as a therapist and ask any questions they may have about what therapy will "look like" for them. We will go over the intake paperwork they filled out and I will ask more in depth questions in regards to their seeking therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a very down to earth clinician. I practice out of the box if need be to help the client feel comfortable. I am inclusive of all peoples regardless or race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background. With over 25 years experience I can help people work on their presenting problems to live happier, healthier lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have extensive experience working with young adults to older adults struggling with a myriad of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self esteem/self worth, mood disorders, marriage and couples issues. I accept any and all persons in my practice.

This first visit was one of my best first visits. Her personality made me feel comfortable to truthfully speak what's going on, and I look forward to working with her in the future.

The best therapist I could have ever asked for. She is so warm and authentic, doesn't beat around the bush, and is very direct with her questions. I have and will continue to tell people about her and where to find her, 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Phew, is what i should say. I feel good about how far things can go with Mrs. Blanchard. She gave me the impression that I can trust her which opens the door to getting out the decay that's being held inward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I support clients in building healthier thought patterns and behaviors through cognitive-behavioral techniques. I have been utilizing CBT in my practice for over 25 years.

Psychoeducation

I provide psychoeducation to increase a persons knowledge about their presenting problems/diagnoses, to help them normalize, demystify, enhance engagement to help reduce stigma or shame that may hinder treatment.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT in therapy sessions as needed to help clients learn to change their lives and their unhelpful behaviors by helping them understand and accept their difficult feelings, learn skills to manage those feelings to be able to make positive changes to their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have found that Mindfulness-based therapy have proven very helpful with clients who are open to using meditation, relaxation and awareness exercises to help them focus on the present moment. This helps the client learn to experience the day to day situations and stressors in a less judgmental and reactionary way.

Grief Therapy

I have experience with grief therapy for those that have lost someone or something important to them. Too often people don't think that losing something important is considered grief, but it has proven very helpful to utilize grief therapy for them. I have experience with complicated grief as well. I could help you work on feeling, processing and moving on from your grief.
