(he/him)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut. I have extensive experience working with individuals with a variety of presenting issues. I work with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan, leverage their strengths to overcome barriers contributing to distress and support clients through the process of navigating life's challenges. I join with clients to understand their story and serve as a source of support. I believe in everyone's capacity for change.
In our first session, I will orient you to the therapy process. We will work together to conceptualize presenting issues and discuss your story. I will review any questions you may have and review important points and policies, including confidentiality and limits to confidentiality. I will engage with you to assess for safety and safety plan. We will collaboratively develop a treatment plan and schedule ongoing sessions.
My greatest strength is my ability to connect with and support people with diverse background and various presenting problems. I am supportive yet direct and willing to work with you to set goals and develop plans to address them.
Seeking help implies vulnerability. Engaging in therapy is a difficult step toward addressing ongoing internal conflicts, distressing thoughts and emotions and relationship issues. I understand the hesitation to seek help and the benefits of doing so. Anyone seeking treatment needs to feel supported by and safe with the person they are turning to for assistance. My work is focused on initiating and strengthening a strong therapeutic alliance to support client's needs, and, in turn, being a steadfast and warm presence. I have a breadth of experience treating all manner of psychiatric illnesses and am ready and able to provide support through life's challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based, effective treatment for a range of disorders and presenting issues. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of treatment that emphasizes the impact of thoughts and feelings on behavior and encourages collaborative exploration and restructuring of unhelpful patterns of relating to oneself and the world. I work to assist clients in understanding the interrelation between thoughts, behaviors, and feelings with specific CBT techniques.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is an effective therapeutic approach to resolving ambivalence and promoting positive changes in one's life. As opposed to other, more directive and didactic approaches to treatment, I use motivational interviewing to meet clients where they are in their lives and work with them to promote goal attainment and improved functioning.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma has a lasting impact on functioning, perceptions, beliefs, self-appraisals and mastery. I create a safe and supportive environment to explore the impacts of trauma on different spheres of functioning. Through this process, I help individuals to progress in their healing and growth journey.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Brief Treatment emphasizes ones strengths, resources and and solutions to work through life disruptions and problems. This type of treatment focuses on solutions, promotes hope and optimism. I utilize Solution Focused Brief Treatment to collaborate with clients on common, practical issues to promote progress and goal achievement.
