Hi, I’m Angie. Are you ready to make some positive changes that will improve your life? Maybe you’re suffering from depression, or anxiety is imposing limitations on how you live your life. Your journey and the life experience that led you here can be complicated, multidimensional, and diverse. I believe the approach to your psychotherapy should be as dynamic as you are and shouldn’t be limited to a “one theory fits all” methodology. You don’t have to face these challenges alone.

Hello! I'm Mary "Katie" Romley. I'm an LPCC in the state of California specializing in therapy work with adults and adolescents. Do you ever feel like because of certain life experiences, you struggle in your daily life or relationships today? I enjoy helping people to find more of a sense of safety, within themselves. I like to make sure that my clients can develop a sense of trust when working with me. I love working with young adults (18-25) and also people going through retirement life changes. Some of the topics I enjoy helping clients with career counseling and coaching, personal relationships, self-concept and self-esteem, healing from abuse, and working with and fully supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. I also love working with people to strengthen their own personal boundaries in life. *Please note that any requests for additional administrative services like letters to courts of law, disability certification, fitness to return to work or other activities and special accommodations related to a psychological condition will need to be cleared with this therapist ahead of starting work together or will have to be provided by another mental health provider. Please consult this therapist first to see if she's able to provide this documentation for you as some may not be possible due to training and specialization requirements.

I am firmly rooted in the belief that the therapeutic process is a symbiotic collaboration between therapist and client. Regardless of whether you're navigating a temporary challenge and seeking targeted, solution-driven guidance, or grappling with a persistent concern that requires long-term therapeutic involvement, there are moments when we all benefit from external assistance. I recognize the importance of individualizing therapeutic interventions. Everyone's journey is distinct, influenced by their unique life experiences, cultural backgrounds, and individual belief systems. It's essential to take a comprehensive view, taking into account not just the present symptoms but the whole person and their life narrative. By understanding each person’s individual story, I can offer more tailored guidance and interventions. This personalized approach not only addresses the immediate concerns but also empowers clients to better handle future challenges with increased confidence and self-awareness. I earned my doctorate degree from the esteemed California School of Professional Psychology. My professional journey has seen me serve in a range of environments. This journey includes my work at the UCLA Anxiety Disorder Clinic, where, as a psychological assistant under a seasoned psychologist, I honed my skills in managing anxiety disorders. My expertise also extends to substance abuse environments, both in acute inpatient psychiatric hospital, as well as outpatient clinics, where I've addressed the intricate dance between anxiety, depression, and addiction. My work in collegiate settings, such as President Barack Obama’s alma mater, has equipped me with insights into the stresses and anxieties faced by students navigating academic pressures and life's pivotal decisions. Furthermore, In the unique and challenging setting of maximum security prisons. Where as a forensic psychologist, I've supported inmates, including those serving life sentences, through the complex emotional landscapes of anxiety and depression linked to their circumstances. My therapeutic approach is anchored in both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theory. Typically, I employ psychodynamic perspectives to facilitate deeper insights into the origins of a client's psychological concerns. This understanding then serves as a foundation upon which we build a CBT-driven treatment plan, ensuring you're well-equipped to achieve your therapeutic objectives.

It never ceases to amaze me just how often I have to try to convince others that they are worthy SIMPLY because they exist. This includes you! I want to know who communicated to you that you are not enough and why you value the opinion of said person(s); these types of harmful beliefs are learned, not innate. Let's unlearn them together. Most of my early clinical work has been with children and adolescents with focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, trauma and various behavioral and emotional issues. I have worked in high-intensity and high-crisis environments from school to hospital settings. I am passionate about working with and creating a safe space for folks who belong to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand that belonging to a marginalized/oppressed group can result in barriers to achieving and maintaining optimal mental health. I am a cis/het woman doing my best to provide care that is equitable and gender-affirming. I'm always learning and growing as an ally; you will always be safe here. I am also always looking at things through a trauma-informed lens. I'm a busy working parent who understands how hard it can be to do it all. I am currently pursuing a certification in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to be able to better support soon-to-be and new parents; this particular journey is no joke!

Therefore, I was keen to make a career change to becoming a psychotherapist. To pursue my goal, I enrolled in a master's degree program in psychology, which required a significant time commitment. I’m Steven Frank. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), licensed in California and living in Seattle, Washington. The way the law works is that if I have a California license, I can live outside of California, but can only work with California residents. For that reason, all my work is perforyemed online through telehealth. I see primarily adults and seniors in my practice and while I work mostly withindividuals, I will also see couples when needed. I’ve been licensed since 1983 but actually began to “grow” a private practice beginning in 1990. While most of my experience has been with clients dealing with depression and anxiety, over the last 4-5 years I’ve been more focused on the treatment for symptoms of trauma and abuse. I’ve been trained in EMDR (a specific treatment for trauma), and will use that method as needed, when appropriate, and with your understanding of the process, and consent. By the way, my first job experience (before beginning my schooling for the MFT license), was in the California State Hospital system as a psychiatric technician. I was a member of a hospital inpatient treatment team that treated people with severe mental disorders. This was excellent training for working with clients who are seeking help, but on an outpatient basis.

A quote that has always brought me courage, "Into the Great Perhaps," moves us to embrace the unknown. It's an invitation to dream and a challenge to have the courage to step into uncertainty. This concept deeply resonates with my therapeutic approach. I emphasize that embracing uncertainty is where growth and transformation occur. In therapy, we'll explore the uncharted territories of your thoughts, emotions, and relationships and view life's challenges as opportunities for personal growth. Together, we'll journey toward self-discovery and personal development. Life is filled with uncertainties, and navigating the intricacies of relationships can often resemble an unmapped voyage. Yet, within these unknowns lies the potential for healing and transformation. Let's uncover what the "Great Perhaps" means for you. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with years of experience, I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your experiences. I firmly believe in the resilience of the human spirit and our capacity for positive change, even amidst adversity.

Thank you for stopping by! A little about myself. I am a mother, grandmother, and dog mom to 2 Jack Russel's. (They haven't eaten the couch yet :) I grew up in foster care and was adopted in my teens. That path led me through my own therapeutic journey as I struggled with depression and anxiety. As I found wellness, I launched into social work to support families, and eventually here, as a licensed therapist. I have been working with Individuals and families in various therapeutic settings for over 25 years. If you decide I may be a good fit for you and wish to book a spot, lets make sure we can coordinate a time that works best with your schedule on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. My work hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Please know that the open days you see are the only days and times available. So, for example, if you book on a Tuesday at 10 am that would be the weekly day and time you are indicating you can commit to. Please know you may not be able to switch the time to another day/time. Also feel free to message me through your portal if you need a different time/day. We will try to make it work.

I have been in the field for twenty five years and have learned to adjust to what the client is presenting in the session to achieve a sense of safety. I work with what the client is presenting and focus on how to guide the client to work through their presenting problem. I have had a history of working with a variety of clients and cultures. I started working in a therapeutic community with at risk adolescents. I later worked with court referred gang members. From there I worked with the homeless and the LGBTQ Community on addictions. I opened a private practice in a more suburban environment.
