About me

Congratulations on taking the first step in your journey of healing and self-discovery. I have experience working with adults from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds. I work collaboratively with clients to address problems such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety/worry, struggles in interpersonal relationships, LGBTQ+ -related issues and challenges navigating life transitions. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, which allows me to draw on multiple theories and interventions such as process-oriented therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Positive Psychology to individualize treatment for the clients I serve.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, being nervous is completely normal. In the first few sessions, we will spend some time getting to know each other, discussing what has brought you to therapy, talking about the process of therapy, and developing a mutually agreed upon treatment plan. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship is a process, as we move through your journey of healing, I encourage you to trust in the process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that all of us have worth and value just as we are. So, come as you are! While life can at times be difficult and stressful, I inherently believe in one's capacity for change. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify practical solutions to life's problems so that they can achieve the life they want. I look forward to working with you!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives and may not know where to begin. I also welcome people who are considering making changes but are unsure of what they want to change or where to begin. I provide a welcoming, safe therapeutic and non-judgmental environment for change to occur. Open and honest communication is the cornerstone of effective therapy. This approach to treatment allows for mutual respect and the free-flowing exchange of thoughts and ideas that can be used to develop a plan for treatment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT suggests that problems caused by dysfunctional thoughts and beliefs, shaped by our life experiences and belief system. In therapy we work to restructure dysfunctional thoughts and beliefs and develop more functional beliefs and ways of thinking.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a specialized form of CBT that focuses on teaching clients how to identify and regulate difficult, intense emotional responses and improve relationships with others through teaching mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Act focuses on helping clients navigate difficult life circumstances and emotions. The goal of ACT is to develop more flexible ways of thinking through identifying personal values and help clients live a life consistent with their personal value system.

Eclectic

An eclectic approach to treatment allows me to draw on a wide range range of treatment approaches and interventions to better individualize treatment for the clients I serve.
