(she/her)
My name is Alanna Walker, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Las Vegas, Nevada. I currently provide telehealth services to clients in California and have experience offering both in-person and virtual therapy in Nevada. I’m certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and domestic violence intervention, and I also have specialized training in substance use disorders and addiction.
During the first session, clients can expect to explore their reasons for seeking therapy in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. This safe space is designed to foster openness and trust as they begin their healing journey. Together, we will also discuss the treatment process and identify goals for therapy, always meeting clients exactly where they are.
My approach to goal setting focuses on establishing realistic and achievable objectives. I believe in collaborating closely with my clients to identify their therapy goals and develop a personalized plan that meets their unique needs. Once goals are set, I provide ongoing encouragement and support to help clients progress—whether that involves learning new skills, reducing symptoms, accessing resources or referrals, or stepping up to a higher level of care if necessary. My aim is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable and empowered, experiencing empathy, compassion, understanding, and even moments of laughter throughout their journey.
I work with a diverse population, ranging from children to adults, and have experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, and substance use disorders. My goal is to help clients achieve their identified treatment goals by teaching practical skills to manage and reduce symptoms. I also strive to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to engage fully in the healing process and work toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
