I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PsyD) with extensive experience working in residential treatment, sober living, and private practice settings since 2010. My career began as an intern in an eating disorder residential program, later expanding into adolescent dual-diagnosis treatment. Alongside completing my doctorate in clinical psychology, I launched my private practice, where I continue to work with clients through Telehealth. I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential by embracing their strengths while learning to accept their vulnerabilities. My clients inspire me every day, and seeing their success stories fuels my dedication to this work.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—especially if you’re not totally sure what to say or where to begin. My job is to make that part easier. I’m a licensed therapist who works with people dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, burnout, low motivation, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Some clients come in with something specific going on, while others just know something feels off and want to figure it out. Both are completely welcome here. In our work together, we focus on what’s actually happening in your day-to-day life and how to create real, noticeable changes—not just talk in circles. I aim to keep sessions practical, collaborative, and grounded so you leave with clarity and a better sense of direction. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they can be honest without feeling judged or analyzed. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear plan before starting—we’ll figure that out together. If you’re looking for therapy that feels straightforward, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward, I’d be glad to work with you.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I provide evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, mood-related concerns, or life transitions. I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I strive to offer a warm, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic space. My approach is structured and goal-oriented, beginning with a comprehensive assessment to better understand your experiences, strengths, and needs. Together, we work to identify meaningful goals and develop a plan that supports lasting and positive change. I bring extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood dysregulation. I began providing therapeutic services in 2009 in a school-based setting, supporting students through mental health interventions as part of their IEP services. Since 2018, I have worked in private practice with adolescents and adults, using evidence-based approaches such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills and greater emotional balance. I hold a Master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, and completed my supervised clinical training through the Los Angeles Unified School District. My work focuses on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and applying evidence-based strategies to support improved functioning and overall well-being. Please note: I do not provide psychological assessments, disability evaluations, or documentation for emotional support animals. I also do not participate in court-related cases, including custody or other legal matters.

I specialize in working with adults, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and provide a supportive, affirming space where clients can show up as they are. I also work with couples on occasion. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I bring both professional and lived understanding to this work. My approach is warm, compassionate, and direct. Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy. With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can. If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.

My goal in my counseling is to help my clients live deeply fulfilling lives. I help clients increase their psychological flexibility through various tools and approaches including evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to change their thought patterns. I use experiential approaches including Hypnotherapy to work with subconscious minds and remove blocks that are deep in their psyche. I also provide mindfulness training, which is one of the key techniques for the clients to be more present and accepting in their lives, rather than react reflexively. Each individual's struggles are complex and tied to many factors including their social environment, their physical health, the phases of their lives, skills they already possess, etc. In other words, change can happen in a variety of ways and that's what counseling can help with, pointing out the direction and even the next steps that can help the client to get to their goals and intentions. I work with clients experiencing sleep disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, mood issues, ADHD, career counseling, and those who simply need a tune-up.

I draw from EMDR, parts-oriented work, CBT, motivational interviewing, attachment and relational therapy, mindfulness, and somatic practices, tailoring treatment to each person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. My background in addiction treatment deepened my understanding of trauma, coping, and the protective strategies people develop to survive difficult experiences. I am also trained in yoga and have experience with meditation, breathwork, tai chi, and qi gong. When these practices fit a client’s needs and interests, they can become part of our work together.

I have been a licensed therapist for over 20 years. Currently licensed in California and Nevada. I understand that reaching out and starting the therapy process can be a little overwhelming in and of itself, so I strive to set a pace that is comfortable for my client. If you are ready to dive into the deep end, we will go there. If you need some time to ease into the hard work of therapy, we will go at a pace that feels comfortable. I see myself as a guide in the process of therapy and, at times, more of a teacher, sharing strategies and information. My goal as a therapist is to help you develop the resources and strategies to feel confident in your ability to handle life challenges. Sometimes that involves really getting in touch with the way you think and what you believe, or exploring how you are talking to yourself, or it might involve healing childhood wounds. Since each client is unique I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, I incorporate evidenced based strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and sometimes complimentary therapies such as Guided Imagery. I tend to be eclectic in my approach because each person is an individual, and there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to resolving life issues.

At this time, I have a small private practice. I am currently serving children, teens, and adults. I specialize in Early Intervention, Children, and Family therapy. I provide solution-focused individual counseling to adults dealing with life changes, transitions, anxiety, and boundary challenges. I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services in 2003. In 2005, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC). Then in 2017, I earned my PPSC with an emphasis on Child Welfare and Attendance from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB). My clinical experience was in county mental health. I specialized in the treatment of children and their families. I provided individual, group, and parenting services to high-risk communities. I used a combination of talk therapy and evidence-based treatment models to best address their mental health issues, all while collaborating with adjunct programs. I provided Mental Health Related Services (MHRS) to students receiving counseling as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). I have 10 yrs experience working for a foster adoption agency. I contributed to promoting safety, family reunification, adoption, and supportive parenting. My love and passion is to help individuals strengthening their relationships, healing, and reaching their mental health goals. Life is hard, challenging, and sometimes just overwhelming. I would love to be a tool that you can use to help you throughout your mental health journey. NOTE: Current openings: Wed- Fridays 10:00am-3 pm.

Hi there, I am Joanna Have you ever gone to therapy and found it hard to open up because the sessions appear rigid and impersonal, and maybe you felt judged? In my practice is my goal to lead sessions in a non-judgmental way, with the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives. I like to describe my relationship with clients as a relationship among equals. My role in the session is to help you process some of the challenges you are experiencing and offer skills that can help create the change you want to see in your life. My theoretical orientation is dialectical behavioral therapy and I try to hold the balance between acceptance and change, this means accepting that although things might be difficult at this moment we can learn new behaviors so life can be improved. My goal is to help clients increase their overall satisfaction in life and relationships. I am also trained in trauma work to help clients process traumatic experiences.
