Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience in the mental health field. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to process, learn to unlearn that which is no longer helpful to you, and rebuild. My services can be provided in English, Portuguese, or Spanish and include stress management, coping with depression and/or anxiety, and learn to live with what cannot be changed. A meaningful life must be constructed, with care and diligence, kindness and courage.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I like to meet the client where they are and talk about what they would like to accomplish in psychotherapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with various age groups from the US and other cultures for the last 35 years, I bring to my practice the empathy for all humans.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love to work in the helping profession. I was an LVN and a teacher prior to immigrating to the US, in 1986. I would like to be of assistance to women and men who experienced trauma during childhood and/or adolescence, the active duty military and their families, and the older population.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been utilizing DBT interventions for the past 10 years. DBT is a form of therapeutic intervention that combines the cognitive behavioral method with mindfulness skills, and works well for individuals who were victims of trauma and/or who suffer from anxiety and/or depression

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

If you are reading this, you probably aren’t feeling awesome. I get it. I’ve been there. Feeling lost, alone, or just stuck, and trying to find a therapist that will understand where you are and how got you there. The therapeutic process involves learning to unlearn that which is no longer helpful to you. My zoom room is a confidential and non-judgmental space in which reflective discussions about your "why" in life will be encouraged. Therapy, to me, is a place where you and I connect, human to human. We will merge mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy to decrease or eliminate what is not working for you anymore. To complete, I am adding the last four lines of the poem Invictus, by William Ernest Henley. I believe that each one of us has the capacity to conquer our fears. "It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."
