Hello and welcome. First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your courage to take the first step in selecting a therapist. The thought of sharing intimate thoughts, struggles and personal experiences can be overwhelming and frightening. I hope to help you feel comfortable that you have come to the right place to express your needs and work on feeling better. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I have over 11 years experience in providing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, trauma, and other challenges. I have had the pleasure of working in various settings. For almost seven years, I worked at a community mental health agency treating children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of needs especially those who have experienced trauma. I have found that each individual comes with their unique story and background. I started seeing clients out of my area when the pandemic started and found I could help more clients using the telehealth platforms. This inspired me to continue to reach those clients who desire telehealth for various reasons. Life can be busy with schedules and finding time for therapy is not always easy. Telehealth can make therapy a little easier.

Hi! I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist working with adults and adolescents presenting with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, addiction, relationship and anger issues. I am passionate about supporting you to access your strengths and discover your full potential or as I describe it, as your "Best Self." I hold a Master of Arts in Spiritual and Counseling Psychology and my clinical training included community mental health settings, psychiatric/addiction residential treatment and school based settings as well as ongoing my private practice. I believe we all have the inner resources and innate ability to access our strengths, intuition and knowledge in order to create the changes and growth we want in our lives in spite of life’s present challenges or past trauma. I am committed to supporting my clients in releasing the self defeating thoughts, beliefs, emotions and addictive behaviors that keep you from experiencing emotional and spiritual wellness. My approach combines practical strategies with mindfulness and acceptance based interventions.

Hi! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Gallaudet University. I am fluent in American Sign Language. I would describe my own as warm, caring, non-judgmental, compassionate, sensitive, respectful, intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced and committed. I’ve been using CBT in my practice. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life

I am a husband, father, and twin brother (I have and identical twin sister). I am also a reiki master and hypnotherapist. When I am not conducting psychotherapy (talk therapy), I enjoy conducting past life regressions to help people resolve past life trauma. I also use hypnotherapy to heal trauma. Hypnotherapy is not covered by most insurances and may result in cash pay. I enjoy helping people identify their wants and needs so they can then identify their goals and dreams. I believe we all have had experiences that have stifled our self-confidence which then causes us to doubt our ability. I enjoy helping people discover that part of themselves that is hidden as a result. I believe the world is a collective of people. We need to take care of ourselves, each other, and the animals we share this planet with.

Hi there! This human experience is quite the journey, isn’t it? The fact that you are struggling does NOT make you weak, it means you are human! Nobody was given a manual for how to live life and we all have our own challenges. Perhaps you feel alone, lost, not good enough, angry, depressed, anxious, or all the above. Perhaps you feel stuck in the past or like you can’t get out of your own way. Whatever you’re struggling with, we can use these challenges to learn from and grow into who we truly are. My intention is always to lead with compassion to create a safe space for you to freely look within and create the life you want.

Greetings! My name is Asia and I help adult individuals with a history of developmental (childhood) trauma repair attachment injuries and thrive in their present-day relationships. As a team, we collaborate to make sense of these experiences, develop a toolkit of adaptive skills, and establish a safe space to promote post-traumatic growth. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and individualized. You are the expert on your life, and I am here to challenge, guide and support you as you tread your therapeutic journey. Whilst informality is a marker of my style, evidence-based practices such as EMDR, CBT, and Motivational interviewing guide my interventions. If my style and approach sound like what you're looking for, I welcome you to reach out and begin this work with me. Choosing a therapist who understands your unique needs, has training in the subjects most relevant to your issues, and makes you feel comfortable can be difficult. It would be my honor to be your fit!

I’m Steven Frank. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), licensed in California and living in Seattle, Washington. The way the law works is that if I have a California license, I can live outside of California, but can only work with California residents. For that reason, all my work is perforyemed online through telehealth. I see primarily adults and seniors in my practice and while I work mostly withindividuals, I will also see couples when needed. I’ve been licensed since 1983 but actually began to “grow” a private practice beginning in 1990. While most of my experience has been with clients dealing with depression and anxiety, over the last 4-5 years I’ve been more focused on the treatment for symptoms of trauma and abuse. I’ve been trained in EMDR (a specific treatment for trauma), and will use that method as needed, when appropriate, and with your understanding of the process, and consent. By the way, my first job experience (before beginning my schooling for the MFT license), was in the California State Hospital system as a psychiatric technician. I was a member of a hospital inpatient treatment team that treated people with severe mental disorders. This was excellent training for working with clients who are seeking help, but on an outpatient basis.

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania and California. I’ve always been fascinated by the human experience. Life is a complicated journey that at times can be very distressing. We as humans need each other to survive, heal, and actualize. I know starting therapy can be quite vulnerable. I truly believe engaging in therapy and the therapeutic relationship can support healing, change, and growth. I meet with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds that often struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions. Some identify as LGBTQ+ and need support with their coming out process or with gender identity exploration. Many of the people I work with are having difficulty adjusting to life connected to an unexpected life event or are experiencing challenges at their workplace. In sessions, we will explore what you desire, the steps you are willing to take, your strengths, and what barriers are getting in your way. My hope is to support you in living a full and healthy life.

When we experience severe trauma or life stressors, our lives can start to collapse into a day-to-day struggle. Our normal coping mechanisms and our support systems can start to fail or no longer be enough to help pull us through the difficult time. The truth is, we cannot change our life experiences, but we can search to find solutions to help us overcome depression, addiction, anxiety, relationship difficulties. We can grow and become aware of our own strengths as we face our struggles. Sometimes we need that extra help to aid us in regaining life balance in our journey of self-discovery. As a licensed family therapist with eight years of experience, I am passionate about helping adults navigate & explore complex challenges in order to work towards positive changes that are solution based.

Chronic pain is a false alarm. "Try putting ice on it. Try putting heat on it. Try sleeping on a giant magnet. Just ignore it." Some things are impossible to ignore. Pain is designed to be unignorable. When your body tells you there's a problem, it makes sure you listen. Pain helps protect our bodies from harm. Pain is like a conversation between body and brain. But as in any conversation, sometimes there are misunderstandings. You want your life back. Pain Reprocessing Therapy can help. I had suffered with chronic pain for many years, until Pain Reprocessing Therapy cured my chronic pain. I am excited to bring this relief to others! In 15 sessions or less, let me offer hope, and a way out. You have been ignored, gaslighted, and drained of your cash over many years of unsuccessful remedies for your pain. Pain Reprocessing Therapy targets learned neural pathways in the brain, and reverses them. If you have a diagnosed or suspected mental health condition, PRT is still effective.

To others it may seem like you've got it all together, but on the inside you're spinning out of control. Panic randomly punches you in the chest, taking your breath away, and you can't focus on anything else other than how to make it stop. You are consumed by trying to keep up with everyone else since they seem to have it all together, but you can barely function through the day. You feel like an awful mom because you are lashing out on your kids and hating the daily monotony instead of "embracing the joy of motherhood." You feel like you are failing your partner because somewhere along this journey you just lost yourself. You want to be a better mom to your kids. And remember why you fell in love with your partner. And stop the tornado of anxiety that knocks you out on the regular. You want to stop living by the expectations of others and rediscover who you truly are. It's time to win back some peace of mind and self-worth and attract the life you want. I have the DBT and mindfulness skills, which uses both mind and body exercises that will help you manage the crippling anxiety, love yourself better, be a more present and joyful mom, improve your relationships, and attract the life you want.

Hi! I am so glad that you made it to my profile. My name is Jesse Carmen-Hay and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I received my Masters in Social Work from Boston College. I am originally from Boston, MA but moved to Los Angeles in 2019. When I am not doing therapy, I love to read, spend time outdoors, cook, try new restaurants, do yoga, and spend time with my wife, daughter, and our two labradoodles. I work with those who are struggling with various things including but not limited to: eating disorders and body image concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenthood, postpartum and various other women's mental health issues, & more. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and I also offer couples & sex therapy. I use a very individualized approach as no two clients are the same, and I seek to meet my clients where they are at. I like to think of myself as a patient, non judgmental listener whose main goal is to provide a safe space for those to talk about their challenges, insecurities, joys, and anything in between. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, myself, I work from a very inclusive lens. If this sounds like something you are interested in please do not hesitate to reach out. I am more than happy to do a 15 minute complimentary consultation. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Do you feel like things just aren't working right in your life and/or relationships? I could be of help. In my more than 23-year career as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist I’ve helped hundreds of individuals and couples. As an individual your relationship(s) may not be what’s getting in your way. It could be you getting in the way of your relationships or what’s bothering you may have nothing to do with relationships with others. Our relationship with ourselves can get in the way of success, too. If you’re in a nontraditional relationship or an individual that doesn’t fit the general heterosexual, monogamous, and/or dual gender model no problem. I’ve worked with you all. With an educational background in life span development, I can help you understand how your experiences and life situations have interacted with you to create who you are now, your behaviors, your beliefs and how you interact with the world. From there we’ll be able to create a way to change things. It may sound like a big ask but I’m up for it. Are you?

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take L.A. Care Covered Direct?

Yes! If you use L.A. Care Covered Direct you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have L.A. Care Covered Direct you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
