Hello, and welcome! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 17 years of experience in medical social work, and I’m now bringing that deep, compassionate care into private practice. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families navigating some of life’s most challenging moments—chronic illness, hospitalization, loss, and major life transitions. My healthcare background has given me a unique perspective on the connection between physical and emotional well-being. I understand how medical issues can impact mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life. I’ve supported patients and families through grief, anxiety, depression, caregiving stress, and adjustment to new diagnoses, and I bring that same thoughtful approach to therapy. When working with clients, I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing. Whether you’re coping with health-related stress, life transitions, or seeking greater emotional balance, I’m here to walk with you at your pace. Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I aim to make that step feel grounded, safe, and supportive.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, life transitions, and patterns that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. My style is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. I listen deeply without judgment while also offering honest reflection, insight, and practical tools to help you create meaningful change. Many people come to therapy believing something is wrong with them. I approach things differently. I believe our emotional struggles, coping strategies, and relationship patterns often make much more sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I help clients become curious about what is happening beneath the surface, why certain patterns developed, how they may have helped you cope or protect yourself, and whether they are still serving you today. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or pretend that everything is okay. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-understanding, reconnecting with your strengths, developing healthier ways of coping and relating, and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your life.

I’m Melba — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Rising Tide Family Therapy. I’m especially drawn to working with people navigating the tension between who they’ve been expected to be and who they’re becoming—particularly those who are used to considering everyone else’s needs, have a hard time disappointing people, or are the first in their family to do something different.. I come to therapy from a different career, which gives me a practical lens alongside my clinical one. You might come to therapy feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of what you want. You might be struggling with communication, boundaries, executive functioning, or simply feeling like you’re carrying more than your share. I help people who feel stuck in patterns of overextension — often the ones who've kept pushing until their body or job forced a stop. I take a strengths-based, compassion-focused approach to burnout and stress, helping clients find their footing and build something more sustainable going forward. We’ll look at both what’s happening internally and the systems around you, with an emphasis on identifying where you actually have room to make a difference. And therapy with me doesn’t have to be solemn all the time. I love a good TV or movie reference, a healthy dose of absurdity, and a laugh when the moment calls for it. My roots are in Kerala, India, and I was raised in San Jose, California, within an Orthodox Christian tradition. Today, I’d describe myself as spiritually agnostic. Given my own background, I’m particularly attuned to the weight that can come with collectivist cultures—the obligation, silence, and guilt that can arise when you’re the person who wants something different. I believe that tending to your own wellbeing isn’t selfish; individual wellbeing is part of collective wellbeing.

Life can feel overwhelming when past experiences continue to show up as anxiety, stress, or emotional exhaustion. You may notice patterns that don’t make sense, feel stuck in survival mode, or carry a heaviness you can’t quite name. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s beneath the surface, and begin responding to life with more clarity and self-compassion. You don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone—healing is possible, and support can make the path forward feel more steady and manageable. Hi! My name is Crystal Villanueva and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have 14 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and children experiencing the challenges of anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, and intimate partner violence. My approach to therapy is grounded in the spirit of Humanistic therapy. Humanistic Therapy is based on the core belief that people are good at heart and capable of making the right choices for themselves. In therapy, this belief leads me to focus on each individual’s unique point of view and how this view can impact their choices. It further emphasizes the importance of being our authentic selves to live the most fulfilling life. I strive to create a safe environment to help clients feel comfortable to express their thoughts/emotions. I am genuine, friendly, nonjudgmental, empathetic, and interactive. I believe I am easy to talk to as I am casual in my style, but direct and focused when it comes to our work together. My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own therapy that I received as a youth and young adult; it was life-changing. I worked with a therapist that was completely accepting and non-judgmental of my faults/shortcomings and helped me work past and accept them. Because of this experience, I wanted to give back and provide the same nonjudgment safe space, and acceptance to others.

I am invested in helping you recognize thinking and (in)action patterns that hold you back or help you flourish. You may gain clarity about attitudes and beliefs informing everyday behaviors. Building motivation and tapping into innate resilience is a major part of the healing journey. The focus can be on lowering stress, increasing safety and security in relationships, and developing healthy self-esteem. This involves exploring current coping and refining skills for various situations and settings. Over time and with practice, you may become more flexible and responsive. You may feel more readiness for new and harder challenges. A gentle exploration of trauma, which is all too often a major source for present distress, is part of the work.

I’m Allan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy—especially for kids—doesn’t have to mean sitting on a couch talking about feelings for 50 minutes. Sometimes the best conversations happen over LEGOs, games, art, play, or while doing something that makes it easier to simply be yourself. Online, it could mean processing trauma, playing online therapeutic games with children (or adults if you want to). I especially enjoy working with children and teens, including kids who are anxious, overwhelmed, navigating trauma, struggling with big emotions or behaviors, or having a hard time putting what’s happening inside into words. I use play, creativity, humor, and evidence-based approaches to build connection and help kids develop skills without therapy feeling like another place where adults are telling them what to do. I also work with adults navigating trauma, mood concerns, relationships, identity, major life changes, and life’s more complicated chapters. My style is warm, humorous, direct, and genuinely human. I draw from DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, play-based interventions, Theraplay-informed practices, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, adapting therapy to the person in front of me rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatry, juvenile justice, child welfare, family services, and community mental health, so I’m comfortable working with both everyday struggles and situations that feel especially complicated. Whether we meet in my Eureka office or online, my goal is to create a space where you—or your child—feel safe, understood, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse affirming and neurodiversity-affirming. And yes, there are credentials behind the LEGOs.

You deserve to feel better. If you've been feeling stressed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that are hard to change, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out on your own. Hi, I'm Michelle, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Mindset Coach with over thirty years of experience. I help people feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their emotions. My goal is to create a space where therapy feels like a real, supportive conversation—one where you can better understand yourself and begin to move forward with clarity. Many of the people I work with are dealing with anxiety, stress, or emotional patterns that leave them feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. Together, we take a closer look at what's happening beneath the surface—not just within you, but within the context of your life, your relationships, and the situations you're navigating every day. We explore how your thoughts, emotions, and stress responses are connected, and we build tools to help you respond in healthier, more empowering ways. I believe there are two important relationships worth understanding: the relationships you have with other people, and the relationship you have with yourself. A question we'll often explore is, "What happens to you when...?" Whether it's conflict, criticism, disappointment, or uncertainty, understanding how you respond under different circumstances helps you recognize patterns and make choices that better reflect the person you want to be. My approach is collaborative, practical, and down-to-earth. Together, we'll focus on the parts of your life that are within your influence… strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, and making changes that help your relationships feel healthier while allowing you to feel more like yourself.

Hello, my name is Steven Nelson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over nine years of clinical experience. While my professional background includes family and relationship therapy, my current focus is working with individuals, helping each person navigate their unique journey toward healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and professions, including first responders, law enforcement personnel, active-duty military members and their families, nurses, attorneys, and many others facing a wide range of life challenges. Life's difficulties are a natural part of the human experience. At times, individuals may feel isolated in their struggles or believe that no one truly understands what they are going through. These thoughts can contribute to anxiety, depression, substance use, and other challenges that impact relationships, work, and overall quality of life. When left unaddressed, these difficulties can become overwhelming and interfere with one's ability to move forward. I believe that meaningful change is possible through a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic approach. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can gain insight, build effective coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier ways of managing life's challenges. Together, we can work toward healing, personal wellness, and lasting positive change. Hello, I remember a joke from sometime ago that goes something like this: "Three friends were walking together one day, and one remarked, 'It's windy,' Another responded, 'No. It's Thursday.' Still the other answered, 'I'm thirsty, too. Let's have a cup of tea.'" Is it that way for you sometime? Finding that you are not really being heard and understood? I get it! Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $300.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes. Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers. I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others. For Clients that are insured by Kaiser: I will be confirming your appointment 48 hours before the appointment by email, please email me back with a confirmation. If you do not respond to my email I will cancel the appointment. I am sorry to have to do this, however I have had an excessive amount of no shows. Thank you for understanding.
