Hi it's nice to meet you, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from Fuller Theological Seminary and have been practicing for over 8 years. I help adults struggling with trauma, anxiety and life stressors to regain their sense of agency, make sense of the past, and make progress towards their goals for the future.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we'll begin with introductions and need to know policies and procedures, answer any initial questions you may have, and I then will work on getting to know you and your reasons for coming into therapy at this time. Some people may feel worried about sharing so much information in the beginning, but we will move at a pace that is comfortable to you as we work together to develop a treatment plan to best meet your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have been told that clients appreciate my kindness, warmth, and down-to-earth style as a therapist
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love coming alongside clients who are ready to do the brave work of making change happen. I connect with a wide variety of clients, but have experience working with healthcare workers, busy adults, and those who may want to incorporate their Christian faith into our work together.
EMDR
I am an EMDRIA Certified clinician, incorporating EMDR into a client centered and trauma informed approach to therapy to treat trauma related disorders, anxiety and more.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I received training in CBT several years ago and use it regularly with clients in understanding patterns of behaviors, root causes of issues, and taking agency with thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Karen really listen to what you have to say. She gives really structure goals and is very direct in what she wants you to do. I'm really thankful she's my therapist.
