**Who I Am** I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about where they are while also feeling supported enough to move toward where they want to be. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood without judgment. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem challenges, and emotional overwhelm. While I often work with individuals, my training as an LMFT means I naturally view people through a relational lens, recognizing how family experiences, important relationships, and life circumstances shape who we are and how we cope. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a partnership. Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, build on your existing strengths, and develop realistic strategies that fit your life. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions when appropriate. I don't believe therapy is about having all the answers or telling you what to do. Instead, I work alongside you to better understand your experiences, recognize unhelpful patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, healing from past experiences, or simply trying to become the version of yourself you want to be, you don't have to do it alone. My hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling more confident, more resilient, and better equipped to face life's challenges with practical tools and a deeper understanding of themselves.

My name is Jennifer Bailey, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Drama Therapist. I help clients identify and pursue the goals that lead to a life filled with meaning, pride, and contentment. Now, you may be wondering: “What exactly is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT)?” Simply put, it means I integrate elements of theater and creative expression into the therapeutic process. With me, you have options. You might choose a traditional talk-therapy session to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Or, if words don’t feel like enough, you might try something more experiential—writing, movement, role-play, or even reimagining and practicing conversations that keep replaying in your mind. Talk therapy is a powerful tool for growth, but sometimes it takes more than words to truly process what’s happening inside. That’s where creativity can open new doors. Whether through conversation, movement, sound, or artistic expression, I provide a space where you can choose what feels most healing and helpful. I would be honored to support you—whether that’s working toward personal goals, processing difficult emotions, or making positive and lasting changes in your life.

I specialize in working with clients who are motived, courageous, and open to exploring their inner world. My goal is to help others achieve their goals. As a licensed clinical social worker, I offer a warm, grounded, and collaborative space where clients can slow down, reflect, and better understand themselves. My approach is person centered and trauma-informed, with a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral and strengths based therapies. Even if clients are not quite sure what that looks like. I help clients by navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, or life transitions. Most people are overwhelmed by pressure. What they tend to want most is clarity, peace, and to feel more connected. I founded Chaos Therapy around a simple but radical idea: life is chaotic, the goal isn't to eliminate the chaos from our existence but to find order within it. My approach is integrative and intentionally anarchistic; there's no rigid script or one-size-fits most protocol. Our sessions are collaborative, adaptive, and real. I'm not your typical therapist, and that's by design. With over 20 years in social services, I've worked alongside people in some of the most demanding, complex, and often overlooked corners of human experience, in-patient and in-home therapy, homeless outreach, academic research, and private practice. That breadth isn't just my resume, it's shaped how I think about healing. If you've been told you're too much, too complicated, too sensitive, too far gone, then you are exactly who I built my practice for.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or emotionally exhausted from constantly caring for others while neglecting their own needs. If you’re caring for an aging parent, spouse, or another loved one over the age of 18, you don’t have to carry that stress alone. My name is Clint, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in Florida and Alabama. I specialize in supporting caregivers of older adults and individuals with disabilities over the age of 18 who may be struggling with burnout, anxiety, guilt, stress, or feeling emotionally drained. As a former primary caregiver for my father, I understand firsthand the emotional and practical challenges caregiving can bring. Balancing medical appointments, family responsibilities, work demands, and the emotional weight of supporting a loved one can leave little time to care for yourself. Since 2011, I’ve worked alongside caregivers and families to help reduce burnout, build healthier boundaries, improve coping skills, and create more balance in daily life. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on practical tools you can use outside of sessions. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and supportive therapy to help clients manage stress, navigate difficult emotions, and reconnect with their own well-being. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. The first session is simply an opportunity for us to talk about what’s been weighing on you and explore whether working together feels like a good fit — with no pressure or expectations. If you’re ready for support, I’d be honored to work alongside you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in North Carolina, Ohio, and Alabama. I earned my Master of Social Work degree through the Joint Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University and have spent the past 15 years working in a variety of mental health settings. As a biracial and bicultural woman of White and Native American heritage and an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, I understand the importance of culture, identity, belonging, and lived experience in the healing process. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, family conflict, grief, loss, and caregiver burnout. I also have extensive experience working with trauma survivors, including individuals recovering from unhealthy relationships, emotional abuse, religious trauma and domestic violence. While I enjoy working with adults from all backgrounds, I am especially passionate about supporting women as they build confidence, strengthen boundaries, heal from past experiences, and reconnect with their sense of self. I'm Malanne, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and founder of SlateCole Counseling and Consultation. I work with high-functioning women, couples, caregivers, and fellow helping professionals; the people who keep everyone else's world running while quietly running on empty themselves. My path into this work wasn't purely academic. Before opening my own practice, I spent years in child welfare, foster care, residential treatment, and school-based mental health, settings that taught me how much people can carry while still showing up, still functioning, still holding it together for everyone watching. I've also walked my own path as a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and cancer survivor, and I know firsthand what it means to keep caring for others while learning to care for yourself too. I bring that lived understanding into the room alongside my clinical training. I'm the author of 31 Days to a Merry Modern Marriage; and relational healing, whether within a marriage, a family, or a friendship with yourself, is at the center of how I practice. In session, I'm warm, direct, and practical. I don't believe therapy should feel clinical or distant, and I don't believe you have to hit a breaking point to deserve support. My approach draws on CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care, but the real work is helping you feel less alone in what you're carrying, and giving you real tools to carry it differently, or set some of it down.

I try to bring both my professional and personal understanding, from my experiences as a mother, grandmother, and former school counselor as I listen to and work with clients in a safe space. My goal is to build trust and connection with each client. I would love to help you identify your counseling goals. Please call and leave a message. I will return your call as soon as possible. I am passionate about creating a space where my clients don't just survive hard things -but grow through them while feeling seen, safe and supported.

I have been doing clinical counseling for 28 years, and unlike most providers, I have a doctorate degree in counseling. I believe that the extra education helps me to provide more thorough, informed, and helpful feedback for clients. I currently provide therapy on a broad range of issues including trauma, anxiety, substance abuse and mood disorders. I am also comfortable working with sexual, gender, and eating issues. I have experience as well with neurodivergence and autism spectrum clients. My passion in a clinical setting involves working with trauma and dissociation, in particular clients with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I believe in giving you tangible feedback and practical solutions. I intend to demystify the process of counseling so that you can truly benefit from your work. In terms of my own self-care I enjoy walking outdoors as a means of reconnecting with nature. Recently, I rediscovered tennis, and have been playing doubles with a local group twice a week. I also recently started playing ping pong and pickleball.

Holding space is the practice of providing a safe and supportive environment for someone to express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment or interruption. It involves being fully present and attentive, allowing the other person to explore their feelings and navigate their own process. My 20 years of experience have allowed for a diverse background of traditions and practices that clients can implement in their personal journey. I value transparency in the therapist/client relationship.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Alabama. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Alabama from Montgomery to Birmingham! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Alabama.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, ADHD, is filtering therapists in Alabama that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
