If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, difficulty focusing, or depression are making everyday life feel harder, you do not have to navigate these challenges alone. I specialize in working with people experiencing anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and related concerns that can overlap with depression.
If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, difficulty focusing, or depression are making everyday life feel harder, you do not have to navigate these challenges alone.
With more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I bring clinical knowledge, specialized training, and a collaborative approach to helping you understand what you are experiencing. You are the expert on you, and I look forward to working together as a team.
First session
Our first meeting will be laid back and relaxed. I have learned to make confusing (many times boring) assessments and information gathering tasks feel more like a conversation. We will address your main concerns, what therapy looks like and a routine that you feel best allows us to consistently address those concerns while fitting into your busy schedule.
Strengths
My approach is collaborative and tailored to your needs, experiences, and goals. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you explore connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to address OCD-related patterns. I also draw from other therapeutic approaches when they fit your needs. Together, we will identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical coping strategies. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself and work at a pace that respects your needs.
Ideal clients
Our work together will focus on helping you better understand yourself and build tools you can use in everyday life. We will explore how anxiety, OCD, ADHD, or depression may be affecting you, recognize your strengths, and work toward goals that matter to you. You can expect opportunities to identify unhelpful patterns, practice coping strategies, and consider different ways of responding to challenges. Therapy is not about me telling you how to live. It is about working together to help you move forward with greater understanding and confidence. I may not know everything, but I a promise I will help find any and all answers and teammates needed for you achieving the "best you".
Origin story
My foray into therapy began as a patient first in my late teens after being diagnosed with OCD and ADHD. I worked diligently with a structured treatment plan and team to address my crippling OCD and ADHD symptoms utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy combined with Exposure and Response Prevention. I also had separate sessions to address my learned maladaptive strategies of time and task management that had not been identified until I was 19 and almost failing my first semester of college. I have been a weekly attendee with my same therapist ever since for the last 25 years. When I had a chance to make a career change from the world of entertainment as an agent, there was simply no other choice for me but to help others with life-altering help I had received.
Ongoing work together
Many of my clients appreciate small, measurable homework assignments in between sessions that serve to guide and inform us both (as a team) along your path to healing or problem solving. Not everyone feels the most helped by things that may feel like work instead of enlightenment and learning from each other. Ultimately what YOU bring each session is what we will start with and move through. You are the expert on you. I am the mental health expert. We are a team though when we are in the therapeutic relationship.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT combined with ERP are the gold standard when addressing OCD (my most primary specialty in both children and adults). I prefer to use CBT as a groundwork to build other therapeutic interventions upon due to the foundations it creates for therapy in general. I will not ever just throw you or a loved one into any method until you have been fully informed and verbalize comfort with the treatment place we create together.
