New to Grow
In the mental health field since 1992, I value the opportunity to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. As a Christian, my faith shapes my values of empathy, respect, and genuine care for others. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where every client feels welcomed, heard, and encouraged toward healing and growth. Outside of counseling, I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother who loves spending time with family—and I share my home with two very spoiled chihuahuas who always make me smile.
In our first session my goal is to increase your comfort level and get to know you as a person and your ideas about counseling. From there we can work to develop goals of how best to spend our time together. You may be asked to complete assessments to provide additional information and measurement of progress toward your goals.
I genuinely like people and accept differences, which helps me understand each individual more deeply without making assumptions that everyone shares the same feelings, beliefs, or reactions. I strive to provide a safe, welcoming space where clients can be honest about who they are. I also hold a firm belief that change is possible, and I hope that belief empowers my clients as they grow and heal.
I work best with clients seeking to understand the connection between feelings, beliefs and behaviors. I enjoy clients that are looking to learn new strategies and perspectives, recognizing that no one has all the answers and what works really well in one situation or relationship may not work at all in others.
CBT focuses on the individuality of our responses to events and examines the belief we hold that form those reactions.
For those wanting to incorporate Christian principals into the counseling process, scripture is integrated and behaviors assessed accordingly.
