LICSW, 7 years of experience
I decided to start a career in mental health because a therapist saved my life when I was a teenager. I have dedicated my life to helping others in the same way, and I truly believe it is my calling. I have been a therapist/counselor for 7 years, and I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years. I will do everything within my ability to help improve your overall mood and quality of life in general. I offer traditional talk therapy, which includes a mixture of CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy. I am an EMDR-trained clinician. EMDR can be used to treat a variety of mental health concerns.
In our first session, you can expect a warm, collaborative space where we get to know each other. We’ll start by talking through what’s bringing you to therapy, your current challenges, and any goals or hopes you might have. I’ll also ask some questions about your history to get a fuller picture of your experiences. Depending on how much time we have, we may begin outlining some initial goals or simply focus on building a strong foundation for our work together. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out, this session is about starting where you are.
What sets me apart as a therapist is my ability to truly relate. I’ve struggled with my own mental health challenges, so I understand deeply and personally how overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting it can feel. Because of that, I bring empathy, nonjudgment, and real-life insight into every session. I’m trained in EMDR, an intervention I wholeheartedly believe in and have seen transform lives, including my own. I’m also deeply passionate about DBT and the practical, life-changing skills it offers. Interestingly, both EMDR and DBT were created by women who had their own experiences with emotional suffering, which I find incredibly meaningful. I believe those who have walked through pain themselves often go the extra mile to help others find healing. That’s my approach: grounded, compassionate, and committed to helping you feel better, not just in theory but in your day-to-day life.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals navigating a variety of challenges: emotional, relational, behavioral, and beyond. There’s no one “ideal” client for me, because I believe meaningful therapy is built on authentic connection. I’m best positioned to support clients who are open to growth, curious about their inner world, and ready to explore change in a safe, supportive space. Whether you’re seeking relief, clarity, or transformation, I’ll meet you where you are!
I’ve been practicing EMDR for the past three years and it’s become one of my most passionate areas of focus. EMDR can be practiced through virtual sessions, as well as in person. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps you process and release stuck trauma, distressing memories, and negative core beliefs. Using bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), we’ll work together to safely reprocess painful experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional weight. I’ve seen firsthand how EMDR can open the door to deep healing and lasting change.
I’ve been practicing CBT for over seven years and consistently see how transformative it can be for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and negative self-talk. Together, we’ll identify the thoughts and patterns that are keeping you stuck. Then we’ll challenge and reframe them using practical tools and strategies so you can experience more clarity, confidence, and emotional balance in daily life.
DBT is one of my greatest passions as a therapist. Over the past seven years, I’ve guided clients through DBT’s core skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach is especially helpful for those who feel emotions intensely or struggle with impulsivity or relationships. DBT offers concrete, structured tools to help you navigate life with more balance, emotional control, and resilience.
With over seven years of experience using ACT, I help clients stop fighting their thoughts and start building a life that aligns with their values. ACT focuses on developing mindfulness, increasing psychological flexibility, and learning to accept what’s outside of your control. We’ll explore how to make room for difficult emotions while still moving forward toward a meaningful, purpose-driven life.
