What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session we will build rapport with one another to start to build a strong therapeutic alliance and then explore what brings them into therapy , what their expectations are, my therapeutic technique and approach and what their goals are for therapy

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are the connections I am able to build with my clients because I’ve experienced what they are experienced and have implemented effective strategies that are proven to work to have a more balanced life whether that is at work or at home with their families from a parenting perspective. I lead with empathy, understanding, and create a non-judgmental atmosphere that makes my clients feel comfortable and they are able to show to to therapy as their most authentic vulnerable selves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I have extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I utilize CBT techniques to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to distressing emotions and unhelpful behaviors. By exploring these patterns, clients gain insight into how their thoughts influence their mood and behavior. Together, we work to reframe negative thoughts, develop coping strategies, and cultivate more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving. Through this process, clients learn to manage their emotions more effectively and improve their overall functioning in various areas of their lives.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice, I incorporate the Person-Centered Approach, to create a therapeutic environment characterized by empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. This approach centers around the belief that clients have the capacity for self-understanding and growth, and the role of the therapist is to facilitate this process. Using the Person-Centered Approach, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel accepted and understood for who they are. I listen actively and empathically to clients' experiences, validating their emotions and perspectives without imposing my own judgments or interpretations. Central to the Person-Centered Approach is the concept of unconditional positive regard, which means accepting clients unconditionally, without judgment or evaluation. I demonstrate genuine warmth, acceptance, and respect for clients, fostering an atmosphere of trust and collaboration. I also emphasize genuineness in my interactions with clients, striving to be authentic and transparent in my communication. By being genuine, I aim to build a strong therapeutic alliance based on honesty and mutual respect. In practice, I facilitate clients' self-exploration and self-discovery by encouraging them to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly and honestly. I help clients clarify their values, goals, and priorities, empowering them to make meaningful changes in their lives. Overall, the Person-Centered Approach guides my therapeutic work by prioritizing the client's autonomy, self-direction, and inherent capacity for growth. Through this collaborative and client-centered approach, I support clients in their journey towards self-actualization and personal fulfillment.
