Mental health counseling can help you cope with feelings and situations in everyday life or past experiences. It can help with feelings of anger, fear, anxiety, shyness, and panic. It also can give you tools to help fight low self-esteem and depression. Since everyone experiences grief, sadness, and stress it can be hard to know when it’s time to see a professional. I can help! I believe there is a difference between being nice and kind, nice is saying or doing what you want to hear and kind is saying or doing what needs to be said or done. During my 12 years as a counselor, I have worked as a clinical director in 3 residential facilities and currently working as the clinical supervisor training new counselor.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The first session is generally to meet and greet where we discuss the basic goals you will have and what to expect from me.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I firmly believe in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model where when we change how we think we change how we behave. This allows us to change the past behaviors with new and better ones.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked in both the mental health and the addiction areas of counseling and feel I have the skills to work with most people.
