Hello everyone! My name is Neha Mahboob, MACMHC, LPCC. I am a clinician working in the beautiful state Kentucky. I have been working as a clinician for 4 years and very happy with the career I have chosen as it gives me the opportunity to help those who need it. I am a firm believer in having a healthy mental/emotional mindset as it sets the stage for a healthy physical state. I help individuals find their inner-peace by giving them tools/techniques to utilize.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. This will be the start of getting to know one another. While I will be asking questions to help tailor a good treatment plan for you, I am open to be questioned too as we will be spending time together. Don't be afraid to speak up :)

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am certified as a QPR Suicide Gatekeeper and have a certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Time has taught me patience and compassion for others. I am always willing to learn from my mistakes and others' talks of their experiences. I am currently taking a certification training in child centered play therapy as well as starting a graduate certificate program August 2024 for Substance Use Disorder.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have 4 years of experience working with the CBT modality. With CBT, I help reframe client's negative mindset to a more positive, healthier one; Together, we will explore and understand how the emotions, thoughts, and actions of the person is bringing in the unhealthy lifestyle and change it.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have 4 years of experience working with the DBT modality. With DBT, I use the skills of emotional regulation and awareness to help with mood and behavior stability.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused CBT can interlink with regular CBT, but in a more narrative manner to understand the person's trauma experience(s). Using trauma narrative, cognitive processing, and relaxation and coping methods, the client and clinician will work on untangling trauma memories, understanding them, and healing.

Supportive

I will listen and understand where you are in life. I will do my best to help you find peace in your growth and lifestyle. Empathy, connection, trust, and communication are big in my therapy sessions.

Psychoeducation

I am more semi-structured in my therapy sessions. I would like to know you as a person and not a diagnosis. We will have discussions, explorations, and sometimes small homework prompts to aid in getting to our goals.
