In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Demetria prioritizes building a strong therapeutic rapport through trust, empathy, and open communication. This foundation supports a collaborative, client-centered approach to treatment planning, focusing on tailored goals that promote growth and lasting progress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The wellness model centers on the understanding that true healing requires nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. In my theoretical intervention, I intentionally weave these three dimensions together to cultivate lasting transformation and emotional balance. Recognizing that our psychological, physical, and inner lives are deeply interconnected, I tailor a holistic framework that honors how distress impacts every facet of one's being. Grounded in advanced training in **Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)** and comprehensive **trauma-informed care**, my approach prioritizes safety, empowerment, and emotional regulation. Traumatic experiences often leave lasting imprints on both cognitive patterns and somatic responses. By integrating evidence-based trauma modalities with holistic wellness principles, I help individuals reframe maladaptive thoughts, process deep-seated wounds, and reconnect with their bodily sensations and core purpose. This integrative path ensures that clients are not merely managing symptoms, but actively reclaiming their personal autonomy, resilience, and vitality.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am dedicated to working with adult clients who are ready and willing to embrace personal growth and development. With a compassionate and client-centered approach, I strive to create a supportive environment that fosters self-awareness, resilience, and positive change. My goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, unlock their potential, and achieve meaningful progress in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been training in trauma-focused CBT and have over four years of experience in this intervention style.

Trauma Informed Care

I am certified as a trauma-informed care provider and a trauma-informed care trainer by the Kentucky Department of Behavioral and Health and Intellectual Disabilities.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing gives the client permission to be present in the room and search deeper into part of their mind than they have gone. While I remain their passenger seat rider, I am assisting them with realizing areas they may need deeper support then we use CBT to master that newly learned knowledge.

Attachment-based

Attachment styles are developed as young as the age of 2. They are developed in childhood; however, they follow you into the different areas of your life. Areas like romance, social, and occupational. I love helping my clients connect the dots.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered is a conversational style that I use to assist with building our relationship. Opening up to a stranger can be difficult and this can help the bonds grow.

She listened she actually listened. And didn’t make me feel bad for the way I felt

Demetria made me very uncomfortable the entire time of our intake session. She laughed at me multiple times after telling her how I felt ab things and completely bashed my previous therapist when I told her something that had been suggested to help me. I have never had such a terrible experience and will never go back to her or her company

She was straight forward with me. I looked at her and said I disagree with you. She didn’t flinch, she kept making me see the truth and I’m thankful for that.
