I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working in Kentucky. I graduated in 2009 with my Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. In 2005, I graduated from Eastern Kentucky Univeristy with a Bachlors in Psychology. I have been providing therapy for 15 years. I help individuals that are experiencing life stressors, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, truama and biploar disorder.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I like to have introductions and to hear about your goals and aspirations for therapy. I like to have a better understanding of what you want to accomplish during our journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having provided therapy for the past 15 years, I approach therapy as a journey and that each client's journey is unique to them. Each person is provided with a specific, tailored treatment plan that works to accomplish your goals. I believe that you are the expert on your life and lived experiences.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I have been using a stength-based approach to therapy for the past 15 years. This helps clients include their strengths during the therapy process to help with improving confidence and self-esteem. It is important to incorporate the actions that you are taking, now, to better understand yourself.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for over 10 years. This method helps client's challenge their autmatic thoughts about themselves. I use CBT to help indivduals identify their cognitive distorations and interupt negative thougth patterns. CBT helps client's change their lives in a positive way but becoming less anxious and depressed with daily life stressors.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used motivational interviewing in various practice settings for over 15 years. This method allows the client to see their current stage of change which can provide insight into their decision making. Through the understanding of each stage of change, the client will learn how to navigate from on stage to the next through techniques taught in therapy.
