Some background: I have 12 years teaching in secondary schools in California prior to becoming a therapist. I have dealt with considerable childhood adversity and loss and continue to build a skillset to help others through difficult times. I am proud to say I love what I do. I am passionate about seeing others change themselves for better, and heal through trauma, injury, and all kinds of adversity which has taken a toll on their spirit.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You will find unconditional acceptance of the most painful parts of your life experience, and form a much needed alliance in repairing hurt and trauma. You will begin the journey of rebalancing, grieving loss, achieving career goals, getting unstuck, strengthening relationships, "sorting it out," or slaying the monsters of addiction and compulsion.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I specialize in assisting clients to open new vistas of possibility. We tell stories and work together. You lead the battle for initiative in this relationship--your goals are my goals. I lead the battle for the structure of therapy that is necessary for your growth. Together, we create new narratives for the past, present and future of your life journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults and young adults. My clients are motivated to heal, recovery, grow, or improve but may need assistance discovering the obstacles. They feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious, or suffer under an unnamable weight, and have begun to see patterns in their lives that keep them from growth.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I am experienced in using various sub-modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy such as ACT and DBT in the service of healing the effects of pervasive childhood abuse and neglect.

EMDR

I have used EMDR in conjunction with cognitive behavioral modalities to heal trauma, and renarrate specific unconscious “core” messages that impact lives. My use of modalities such as Schema therapy and narrative therapy help clients build a solid base of awareness of the impact of innate and environmental factors so that we can change hurtful messages.
