About me

My path to becoming a therapist began with a deep curiosity about how our past experiences and family dynamics shape us. After gaining experience in a variety of settings—from in-home therapy and outpatient facilities to addiction treatment centers—I consistently observed a core theme: many of the challenges people face, whether it's anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks or relational issues, are rooted in our past experiences. These observations have shaped my practice, leading me to create a collaborative and gentle space where clients can explore these foundational issues. My goal is to help people build a strong sense of self-trust, leading to greater inner calm and more meaningful connections.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In this journey, I offer a space of curiosity and openness for you to explore who you are within your challenges. The goal isn’t just to overcome difficulties, but to feel more connected and fulfilled in yourself. In each session, we’ll identify practical ways to cope and move forward, so you feel supported between sessions. We’ll track progress, notice barriers, and problem-solve together. Change can be uncomfortable—even scary—and also necessary. You don’t have to go through it alone.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m a bilingual (Mandarin-English) therapist with over 16 years of clinical experience. My commitment to professional growth is centered on deepening my expertise in trauma-informed care. I draw from EMDR, IFS, DBT, and CBT-based treatment modalities. My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. In treatment, progress often includes developing coping skills, experiencing a sense of calm and presence, and building meaningful connections with yourself. To support your growth outside of sessions, I often suggest practical exercises to help you feel more empowered. My ultimate goal is to help you build a greater sense of hope and resilience in your life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in helping clients who are navigating the effects of trauma, whether it shows up as PTSD, panic attacks, depression, or anxiety. I believe in creating a safe, collaborative space where we can work together to explore what's been holding you back. By integrating a variety of research-based approaches, I tailor our work to your unique needs. Our goal is for you to feel that healing is possible, hope can be restored, and your own resilience can grow.

My treatment methods

EMDR

My practice centers on trauma-informed care, with a specialized focus on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a primary modality I have utilized for the past nine years. This evidence-based approach begins with resource development, ensuring you have more access to your internal strengths and coping skills for this emotional work. We will then collaborate in a structured manner to process distressing experiences, resolve negative core beliefs, and neutralize unhelpful emotional responses. While this therapeutic journey can involve the intensity of emotions and physical sensations, the process consistently leads to significant clarity, emotional relief, and a profound sense of calm. The outcome is a reduction in distress related to past events, allowing you to feel more present, grounded, and resilient.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice for the past seven years. My approach is to collaboratively guide you in connecting with your cognitive, emotional, and physiological experiences. We will develop core capabilities in Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Effectiveness to foster a more skillful and positive relationship with your emotions.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

My approach within the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model focuses on guiding you to safely explore your inner world and deepen your Self-connection. We will work to resolve internal conflict by promoting harmonious relationships among your various parts. This process will cultivate greater understanding, compassion, and empathy for your internal experiences, including your thoughts and emotions. You will learn to consistently access your core 'Self-energy'—a state of inherent calmness, clarity, and curiosity—to facilitate profound inner healing and sustainable personal growth.
