I’m an Army Veteran and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting military personnel and first responders facing challenges such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. My practice is rooted in trauma resolution, and I’m trained in The Cortina Method—a cutting-edge brain optimization technique designed to address trauma, self-limiting beliefs, chronic pain, substance abuse, and unresolved guilt. For decades, our culture has carried a harmful assumption: that trauma breaks people. That if you’ve lived through something overwhelming—combat, assault, childhood adversity, medical emergencies, disasters—you are somehow permanently damaged. But that narrative is not only wrong; it is dangerous. This belief creates shame. It isolates survivors. It teaches people to hide their pain instead of seeking support. And it reduces a person’s entire identity to their hardest moment. I am here to challenge that status quo.
Please note my no show policy: A "no show" to your session means that you are more than 15 minutes late. If you notify me via message that you need to cancel, I am happy to waive the no show fee, but, you must message me first. If I log onto your appointment and you do not show up within 15 minutes and I have not recived any message from you, I will charge the no show fee of $60. Habitual no shows will result in termination of therapy.
Hello! I am a licensed social worker (LICSW) who has been working at Seattle Children's Hospital for 10 years, helping patients and their families navigate chronic medical conditions. Because of my role at the hospital, I am also a Certified Clinical Transplant Social Worker (CCTSW), meaning I have expertise in organ transplant.
I am from the east coast originally but spent most of my life in the midwest and completed undergrad at Michigan State University before moving to Washington DC to complete Americorps service. During Americorps, I worked in development at a nonprofit that served unhoused youth. I quickly became interested in obtaining my Masters in Social Work so as to work directly with people instead of behind the scenes. I attended graduate school at the Catholic University of America and graduated in 2015 with my Masters in Social Work (MSW). Despite the name of my school, the social work program was secular.
After receiving my MSW, my husband and I moved to Seattle to start new adventures! While working in the hospital setting, I realized that the moments that bring the most fulfillment are the ones where I am engaged 1:1 and providing individuals with support, therapeutic intervention, encouragement, and coaching. I decided to open a therapy practice to allow me to provide this support outside the hospital. To this end, I completed a year-long therapist training program in Expressive Arts Therapy at the Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute. I am working towards becoming a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT).
In my free time, I love being outdoors with my family, going on adventures with my nieces, thrift-store wandering, having soul-enriching conversations with friends, and finding opportunities to dance.
I create a space where you feel safe, seen, understood, and free to show up exactly as you are. I will walk alongside you as you discover your own wisdom and resilience. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and humanistic. I draw from interpersonal, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems) and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy).

My goal is to meet you where you are by bringing a compassionate approach backed by formal training and experience and be a part of your goals in the change process. I am very personable as well as professional and I do not believe in one-sided relationships. I have a multidisciplinary, eclectic approach to therapy in which I utilize techniques and principles from a variety of modalities to include Christian based. My counseling is geared toward treating the whole person from a biopsychosocial spiritual standpoint. I view counseling as a calling and not as a career and that it is a collaborative effort in which I learn and grow as a result of every interaction. My clients describe me as a “good listener” and as someone who “makes me think”.
Some of the experiences that have contributed to my professional identity and approach to mental health treatment are my formal education at Pensacola Christian College where I received a BA in Pastoral Ministry and Liberty University where I received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked as a therapist under regulatory agencies for 6 years and have worked in Christian Ministry since my ministerial ordination in 2003. Demographics I have served have included inpatient and outpatient care, private practice, substance abuse issues, psychotic spectrum disorders, gender identity issues, personality disorders, sex addiction, family and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Spirituality, and men’s issues. My experiences as a combat military veteran, teacher, father, husband, and a person who has experienced my own traumas and failures have contributed to my professional development.
I look forward to getting to know you!
I take a warm, down-to-earth approach to therapy and work from a trauma-informed lens. I believe our reactions make sense, even when they feel overwhelming or confusing.
Together, we slow things down and begin to understand what’s underneath your experiences. I bring in an understanding of how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, helping your reactions feel more understandable and connected to what you’ve been through.
I see your reactions as signals worth paying attention to. Rather than only trying to manage them, we take time to understand why they’re showing up and what they might be connected to. From there, we can begin to shift how you respond, building tools that actually support you in a way that feels more grounded and effective.

Drive and focus don’t make you immune to anxiety, burnout, sleepless racing thoughts, shame, manipulation, family complexity, or the echo of old injuries.
Excellence doesn’t require perfection and saying no is okay.
With over a decade of experience across multiple states, I blend psychotherapy with practical solutions by offering confidential, results-focused care tailored to your unique world.
I also provide corporate mental health training, parent coordination, custody evaluations, co-parenting, reunification, and other psycho-legal consultations all delivered with discretion, expertise, and a deep understanding of high-stakes environments.
If you’re ready for focused, actionable support, I’m here to help.
