(she/her)
Growing up in a military community as a student-athlete and bartender, I learned quickly that my passion and love for people would take the lead in picking a career. While receiving my master's degree at the University of Southern California, I concentrated on family and couple dynamics with a focus on military culture. Since becoming licensed in Texas, I have worked in the acute hospital setting with individuals in crisis processing trauma and working through the stages of grief. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused therapy, and task-oriented therapy. I look forward to working with individuals and couples in all different stages of life to help them process, heal, and move forward with proper coping skills to be as successful as possible.
Clients in the first session should expect to be heard. They will be encouraged to speak openly and freely with no judgement. They will leave knowing they are in a safe space where ideas and thoughts will be grown, challenged and nurtured.
My greatest strength is being able to connect with my clients where they feel comfortable and safe communicating with me. Providing a safe space and a place where people can be honest and vulnerable is my most optimal quality as a clinician.
I prefer working with couples along with individuals working through life transitions, depression and/or anxiety. Due to my acute care hospital experience I work with those individuals dealing with end of life, crisis or working through trauma. I am also a partner of the LGBTQIA+ community and focus on sex positive choices and relationships.

Lisa has been God sent for me! She's very professional and also REAL, which is the type of counseling I needed when I was at my lowest. She has an amazing personality and always challenges me to meet my goals. I'm still a work in progress but she hasn't given up on me and she NEVER lets me give up on myself.

This was my first therapy session ever and she was absolutely amazing! Right of the bat she was honest and said what I needed to hear not what I wanted to hear. Her first session is really to learn you as a person and understand what your goals for therapy is. I was very nervous coming into this, but she made me very comfortable for the start of this:)
