In our first session, we will spend time building rapport and getting to know each other. There will also be an intake and assessment process that might feel like a million questions but is just there to help us create a good treatment plan. You should be able to leave the session feeling seen, heard, and understood.
I am uniquely trained as a therapist and educator and have an MEd. degree as well as a masters in clinical psychology an one in theology. I am especially good with working with teens and college age students as well as adults.
I work with clients who are motivated for change. I am well positioned to serve clients exploring the intersection between faith and mental health as well as working to serve clients with anxiety related disorders.
CBT is an evidenced based modality that helps clients work on how changing core thoughts can change feelings and behaviors which leads to a more healthy and robust life. It is commonly used to treat things such as generalized anxiety.
I have been using ACT since graduate school. It is also an evidenced based modality and good for long term diagnosis such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc.
Exposure and response prevention therapy is the gold standard for treating obsessive compulsive disorder. I am a trained ERP therapist and have used this modality on the NOCD platform for several years.
