Hello, my name is Teresa, practicing mental health for over 16 years working with the military population. Working as a middle school teacher in a lower socioeconomic area. This led to my desire to go back to school for my master’s degree in counseling psychology. Receiving my LPC licensure, led me to pursue my chemical dependency counselor license (LCDC). I began working as a substance abuse counselor with the US Army in substance abuse counseling. While working with the military I worked at a local hospital developing a program for civilians in chemical dependency. The need to work with individuals, and families including Service Members, led me to work as a contractor for private corporations. During this time, I received a certification in behavioral therapy to work with the autism spectrum population. Raised as a military dependent, then wife and mother, I experienced many aspects of different personalities. I was led to understand what it means to try to hide who you are to eventually become someone you may not recognize. The goal is to have you see, life is wonderful, we go through the storm to appreciate the sunshine. The experience developed led me to work with addiction, anxiety, PTSD, and many other mental health issues. We are a beautiful bouquet with different views on life. Using an eclectic therapeutic array of mental health care has allotted me to develop individual care. This concept of care is the same for couples and group therapy. Some techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychosocial therapeutic techniques.

I witness people in their present predicaments and tell them what I see and feel. Acknowledgement of pain, a counterintuitive process, is the secret sauce of ordering our lives into functional, fun, and life-affirming behaviors. The process of emotional healing takes time, dedication, and practice. Willingness to feel what has been unfelt and to voice what has been unsaid will help you see positive changes in your life.

Hi, I'm Aaron. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working out of the state of Texas. I've been in the behavioral health field for about 12 years helping people of all ages overcome mental health struggles and issues with substance use and process addictions. I was called to this work because my own struggles with depression and substance abuse, and, though I had to struggle in order to get where I am, I feel so grateful for my experiences. I have a passion for mindfulness and compassion in my work and like to incorporate breathing techniques and music whenever possible because, frankly, these are things that have worked well for me! I have also adopted Polyvagal Therapy- a cutting-edge modality in our field- as one of my go-to approaches. Polyvagal therapy will help you to understand the power of the mind-body connection while improving your relationship with yourself and the world around you. I'm also a huge proponent of yoga and Brazilian jiu jitsu as healing arts and would encourage ANYONE to try them out.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is skilled at motivating, communicating, and helping my clients find their inner strength. Hello, I'm Beatriz, Do you ever feel like you second guess yourself a lot? Do you ever wonder when that started or where that comes from? Are you afraid that your choices will go against cultural traditions and family believes? Do you have trouble vocalizing your needs? I help individuals find their courage to start living the life that they really want for themselves. It's not easy, it takes practice, patience, and at times taking a little deeper look into our fears. Together we will explore fears, difficult emotions, relationships, we might even identify somethings that you may have been avoiding. Through motivational interviewing, we will explore what are your goals while in therapy. I use a strength based approach to start some action towards those goals. I start where you are and I will respect any decision you make along the way. Wether you are struggling through depression, anxiety, trauma, or want to overcome something to start a new adventure, this is a partnership. I am here to support you through the journey. Seeking therapy can feel scary at times, so I want to congratulate you for taking these steps. As a Latina, I know how hard it can be to not feel like you have a safe space to heal and grow. As a spoken word artist, I know the importance of telling your story. I will provide you with a space where there will be no judgement and a lot empathy. So, let's work together and start empowering your self love!

After many years of exploring a variety of jobs I finally began to focus on assisting others in this adventure called "life ." As an adult. I began serving through Christian ministry and then realized I was even more fulfilled in working more specifically in the wider field of mental health. After getting both master's and a doctoral degree in mental health, I worked in clinical settings, counseling centers, crisis centers, my own private practice , and university settings. While managing my own counseling center, I also served several years teaching graduate students in the areas of counseling and psychology. My joy comes from helping others regain control of life when cognitions, emotions, and behaviors have caused distress. We do not always understand the "why" of life experiences, however we can gain mastery of our thinking, feeling, and doing and continue to enhance functioning and happiness.
