For many years, I worked as a retail manager, where I gained valuable insight into human behavior, conflict resolution, and the importance of mentoring others through life's challenges. Those experiences taught me that every person has a unique story, and with the right support and perspective, they can discover the strength and wisdom they already possess. I approach each person with honesty, compassion, an open mind, and a willingness to think outside the box. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I believe in helping people uncover the answers that align with their own journey, empowering them to recognize their strengths and make meaningful connections that foster growth and healing. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate life's questions and challenges. Drawing from both my professional background and my own lived experiences, I strive to provide guidance, encouragement, and a safe space where you can gain clarity, build confidence, and move forward with purpose.
Hello and welcome to my practice. I work exclusively with people in their 20s through their 30s. Please disregard the platform, which is programmed for Age Groups 18 - 64.
This stage of life can bring many questions about direction, purpose and relationships. Together, we'll facilitate how you want to show up in the world. Perhaps you're feeling stuck, unsure of your next step, or noticing patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll take time to explore what’s getting in the way of the life you want to live. Psychotherapy is a space where you can show up, be your authentic self, slow down, reflect, and begin to experience yourself in a setting to realize yourself. Our conversations will focus on how you relate to your thoughts, feelings, body and the people around you as well as to the broader world. By paying close attention to your speech, we can begin to grasp patterns and themes that are facilitating you to flourish and those that are keeping you stuck. My goal is to support you as you gain greater freedom to choose how you create your lived experience. Let's talk.

Have you been wondering if your current challenges are due to past traumatic life events? Do you struggle in relationships? If so, I may be the Therapist for you. I specialize in trauma therapy for teenagers and adults.
Many people often think trauma is only caused by violent crimes, acts of physical abuse, or natural disasters. They may also think because trauma happened a long time ago, it does not affect them in the present. These are a few of the myths about trauma. There are many types of traumas such as the sudden or unexpected death of a loved one, bullying, retaliation in the workplace, neglect from parents, infidelity, intimate partner violence, the witnessing of domestic violence and more.
If you or your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stressors, therapy with me can help with positive changes to strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches. My years of professional experience as a teacher and counselor, along with my lived experiences as a Black person allow me to provide empathetic regard while helping clients from multicultural backgrounds.
I am a licensed professional counselor looking to help others find their full potential by using an eclectic approach to therapy. If you find yourself aimlessly scrolling through profiles in search of an authentic therapist, I may be a great fit for you. I find that being authentic with clients is what helps them build a foundation and feel safe enough to share their issues and concerns.
I practice from a person-centered approach while mixing in elements of CBT to help clients guide their treatment while also holding them accountable. I specialize in the use of art therapy to help clients communicate and process various topics that may be difficult to speak about. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, issues with substance abuse, or relationship issues, I'm here to help. Throughout my career in therapy, I have focused on treatment of Veterans, first responders, and those who have experienced trauma.
Seeking treatment can be difficult, but if you've already taken this first step in searching for a therapist then you've likely already identified that this is something you can benefit from with the right help. If you've been reading this far and I seem like a good fit for you, let's work together!

I'm Shekhina, a Multiracial/Biracial Messianic Jewish Believer in Yeshua (Jesus) as my Lord and Savior, in addition to a faith-based Psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavioral Consultant based out of Philadelphia, PA. I hold an MS from Grand Canyon University and have over 25 years of experience in counseling. I have owned and founded The Counselor's Heart Therapeutic Services since 2019. My mission is to help individuals grow in their relationship with Yeshua (Jesus), identify the root of dysfunctional behavior, and break the cycle of sin, toxic patterns, and intergenerational trauma/generational curses. I aim to help clients move forward to live productive and healthy lives, guided by their faith in God, and free from the burden of past trauma.

The numerous professional opportunities I have experienced with various populations has allowed me to find a place to dedicate myself to a career of serving exceptional individuals and working with numerous health care providers in the community.
My approach is holistic and refers to the whole-person rather than focusing on specific ailments, although topic specific symptoms will also be addressed and discussed as necessary.

Thank you for sliding on past my profile and the above quote is essential to not only my mindset in how I approach everyday as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) but also how I want to assist in creating a space for my clients. I am currently based in Pennsylvania & have over 10 years of experience working with an array of clients. I have helped many from young adults to older adults take a deep dive within themselves to challenge thoughts, perspectives and beliefs that create a mental and emotional limitation on becoming a more empowered and improved version of themselves. My goal is to respectfully challenge and guide clientele to look within themselves since they are the best expert on their own life and choices so that they can discover the innate skills and abilities that can take them to higher heights within their situations and lives.
I have been working with individuals struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use, sexual addiction, and mental health challenges for the past ten years. I have a real heart to walk alongside you to encourage, support, and empower you to move forward in your recovery needs. I graduated from Liberty University in 2014 with an MA in Professional Counseling and completed a Doctoral program specializing in treating trauma-related challenges. I approach recovery through the eyes of motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
