(she/her)
Hello! My name is Tia and I have been working in Human Services for well over 20 years. I am a dedicated therapist with a passion for supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach is always shaped by a deep commitment to understanding the unique needs of every client, placing your well-being at the very center of my practice. With experience working across multiple populations, including adolescents, adults, couples, and families, I tailor each session to meet you where you are, creating a safe, trusting environment built on empathy and respect. I specialize in evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), offering practical strategies for managing anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. My goal is to empower you with the tools and resilience needed to move forward confidently. If you are seeking meaningful change and compassionate support, I am here to listen, collaborate, and walk with you toward your personal growth and fulfillment.
Our first session is about getting to know you! I'd like to understand what is bringing you to therapy and together we can build goals based on your needs. You know what your priorities are and we can address them as a team!
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to adapt to each client’s evolving needs. For example, when a client’s goals shift during our sessions, I adjust our approach to ensure we stay focused on what matters most to them. By remaining an objective participant in the development of goals and next steps, I help clients feel empowered and supported as they navigate their personal growth. This flexibility and objectivity ensure that each client receives guidance tailored to their unique journey, fostering trust and lasting progress.
As a therapist, my ideal client is someone who recognizes the importance of personal growth and is motivated to make meaningful changes in their life. You may be facing complex issues, whether emotional, relational, or situational, and are seeking a supportive environment to explore these challenges. My approach is to work alongside you, offering compassionate guidance and practical tools to help you improve your overall well-being. I deeply respect your courage in reaching out for support, and together, we can create a space that encourages healing, understanding, and positive transformation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used in therapy to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, fostering healthier ways of thinking and coping. Often times we are defeated by our negative thoughts telling us we can't or shouldn't make changes. Addressing those thoughts helps overcome these beliefs.
Couples Counseling
Couples therapy can serve as an adjunctive treatment, complementing individual therapy to help partners address relational concerns that impact their overall well-being.
Gender-affirming therapy
Gender affirming care in therapy includes acknowledging individual needs and offering tailored support. By learning the identify and needs of the client, additional growth can occur in acceptance and a sense of community.
Trauma Informed Care
In therapy, trauma-informed care emphasizes a sensitive and gentle approach while actively increasing awareness of potential triggers to support clients effectively.
