My approach to therapy is client centered, trauma-informed and strength based. I have been fortunate to have served a variety of individuals with varying needs that include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional regulation, anger issues and grief. I have over a decade of experience providing mental health and support services to individuals of diverse backgrounds in different types of settings. My experience includes working in governmental, community and private settings. I believe the answers to our issues are within all of us. Through my supportive, caring and skillful style, I partner with my clients to develop insight, coping strategies and increased peace of mind. Our sessions will be dynamic and focused on an individualized plan which we develop together. I am accessible, open and honored to be a part of each and every client I serve. Together we can find ways around stumbling blocks and discover steppingstones to peace of mind.
Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will spend time framing primary challenges and collaborate to develop individualized treatment goals.
My treatment methods include cognitive behavioral and trauma informed approaches as well as motivational interviewing. Relaxation, distress tolerance techniques, skill rehearsal, and psychosocial education are some of the many tools we will use to support your wellness.
My strengths as a counselor are being focused, responsive and collaborative. Focused on framing the issues and supporting a viable plan. Responsive in the sense that you will feel heard during our sessions. I will always return your calls in a timely manner. Collaborative in terms of not being a prescriber but a partner in developing your long and short term goals. One of the areas I have developed is working with first responders as I have been effective with supporting individuals who have endured significant trauma with increased life balance and a sense of safety.
