Hi, welcome. I am so proud of you for taking the first step into your healing journey. My name is Erica and I have been working with children, adolescents, young adults and adults for over 15 years. I have a strong knowledge base of resources in the Philadelphia metro area. I currently only have DAYTIME availability due to current clients having established evening sessions. I became a mom during COVID, which was a big transition for me and quite the journey. This means I can provide insight, compassion and knowledge about parenting issues, fertility struggles, traumatic labor and delivery and pregnancy loss. I started my career in case management working with children and families, connecting them to community resources, and therapies, then I grew into acute care, running children and adolescent group therapy, family therapy and individual and crisis counseling. Since most of my history is in acute care, I have a passion for working in crisis and trauma, working with all demographics. My extensive background in crisis and trauma allows me the compassion and space for those needing a little extra support, to check my email and text those clients throughout the day. I have a strong passion for veterans, active duty/reserves, their families and all first responders. As a first responder wife, I empathize with the difficulties the schedule can be on you, your family and your mental health. I have recently completed Rutgers Certificate Program in Trauma Response and Crisis Intervention, as well as Completed the Dare to Lead, program by Brene Brown. I am a volunteer coach for special Olympics, participate in advocacy work for survivors of military loss, on the Delaware county advisory council for veterans.

Hi, I’m Dr. Catherine T. Revak, DSW, LCSW—but please, call me Cate. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a traditional one, and each chapter of my life has shaped how I show up for clients today. I served in the United States Air Force and spent many years in the financial services industry, experiences that taught me how to navigate complexity, hold difficult conversations, and remain present during times of stress and uncertainty. Later, I returned to school at the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, and completed both my master’s and doctoral degrees in social work. My clinical training focused on veterans’ mental health, grief, loss, and bereavement. My time working at the VA and in hospice care deeply influenced my approach to therapy, reinforcing the importance of compassion, attunement, and the healing power of being truly witnessed. In therapy, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I draw from psychodynamic, narrative, and trauma-informed approaches, but at the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself. Whether you are navigating grief, transition, or uncertainty, I walk alongside you as you find meaning, connection, and a way forward that honors your experience.

When we experience loss, unwanted change, or trauma it can shake our foundations and lead to pain, confusion, and heartache. While we can't prevent life from happening or undo what we've been through, my practice is based on a deeply held belief in the ability for all of us to heal and resume living with meaning and purpose. Recognizing where you're feeling blocked, stuck, or hurt will inform where we focus our efforts. Granting ourselves full permission to feel and express the depth of our feelings is instrumental to healing and growth. My role is to bear witness to your experience while offering support and encouragement as you recognize and process your feelings. Through curiosity, presence, and attunement I seek to facilitate individual's getting back to living through effectively addressing, expelling, and moving past what has caused pain. Owning how we feel without asking for permission, learning how to internally validate ourselves, and developing self regulation strategies will help when we experience intense challenges. We can learn to change our narratives and work towards unconditional self love and acceptance. Please trust yourself and your wisdom when doing healing work.

I'm Ben Northrup, a licensed professional counselor with experience working with people with a wide range of mental health challenges. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for individuals with borderline personality disorder, psychosis treatment, helping family members of individuals with symptoms of psychosis, and support for anxiety and depression. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lock Haven University and have worked in group homes, partial hospitalization programs, women’s centers, and community-based mental health clinics. These experiences have shaped my client-centered, practical, and empathetic approach to therapy. I tend to keep therapy pretty conversational and relaxed. I don't think therapy should feel like something you have to dread each week. Sometimes we'll have a serious emotional conversation, sometimes we'll problem solve, sometimes we'll laugh, and sometimes you might just need a place to let everything out. My goal is to make therapy a place where you can be yourself while we figure out the best way to help you reach your goals.

I really enjoy people. I was born with a natural curiosity for people and why they are who they are. I've always wanted to challenge myself and get what I can out of life. Which has given me a lot of life experience. The military, martial arts, marriage, fatherhood, and counseling have given me some of the most formative experiences of my life. Hi there! I’m Sarah :) Congratulations at taking the first step in reaching out to a counselor. I can understand how difficult it can be for some to make that decision. It can be hard to admit when someone feels like they need additional help in their lives to get things moving in a positive direction. It's important to recognize that this is not a flaw, and that teamwork is sometimes the best solution for an issue. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important and that you need to feel comfortable with someone to open up and trust. I would be honored to be a part of your journey to help you find your desired goals.

It would be my pleasure to work with you! My name is Kim Sylla and I have been interested in the field of social services since childhood when I enthusiastically listened to the life stories of those around me including friends, neighbors and extended relatives. This interest grew with with my first therapist volunteer experience -- at the age of 20 -- with individuals who had substance use and mental health disorders. Since then I have had a wide array of additional volunteer and work experiences with adults and adolescents undergoing various life challenges at work, school, home and in the larger community. I am a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and families create meaningful, lasting change—especially during some of the most challenging and complex moments in their lives. My work is rooted in the belief that behavior makes sense when we understand the experiences behind it, and that real progress comes from addressing both the “why” and the “how” of change. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and families who are navigating trauma, behavioral concerns, and system involvement. Many of the clients I serve have experienced disruptions in attachment, high-stress environments, or significant life events that continue to impact their relationships, emotional well-being, and decision-making. My approach is structured, active, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, EMDR, and DBT. I focus on helping clients build insight into their patterns while also developing practical skills they can use in everyday life. I believe therapy should not only be a place to process experiences, but also a space to build tools, accountability, and confidence. I work to create a therapeutic environment that is consistent, supportive, and honest. I balance compassion with clear expectations, helping clients feel understood while also challenging them to grow. Whether I am working with an individual or an entire family system, my goal is to strengthen relationships, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term stability. At Velocity Counseling, the focus is on forward movement—helping clients move beyond survival mode and toward a more stable, connected, and purposeful life.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, and life transitions through a supportive, collaborative, and evidence-based approach. I provide therapy that blends compassion with practical tools—drawing from modalities like CBT, narrative therapy, and psychodynamic insight—to help clients understand themselves, heal from the past, and build more fulfilling lives. My goal is to create a safe space where you can be heard, challenged, and empowered

I started my career in human services at Northeast Treatment Centers in Philadelphia, PA where, over the course of 7 years, I worked as Youth Advocate for adjudicated adolescents, lead clinician for a community-based treatment team and outpatient therapist. After becoming a licensed psychotherapist in 2014, I worked as an outpatient therapist for multiple companies in the Philadelphia area where I helped clients manage or overcome symptoms related to anxiety, stress, trauma, depression and more. My therapeutic approach is strongly rooted in humanistic psychology. As described in an article from the Association for Humanistic Psychology, this approach offers a "crucial opportunity to lead our troubled culture back to its own healthy path. More than any other therapy, Humanistic-Existential therapy models democracy. It imposes ideologies of others upon the client less than other therapeutic practices. Freedom to choose is maximized. We validate our client's human potential."

Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Struggling to make sense of your relationships? Let me help! Hello, I’m Mike McInerney, a part-time private therapist for adults. I have been counseling adults and families for more than 20 years. Maybe you found me searching for online counseling services or maybe you were referred here by a friend or family member. First and foremost, I wish you well. Life is full of challenges and we could all use a little help. Currently, I am open to working with a small handful of clients online on Mondays/Tuesdays. My approach is inviting, and warm, and I use humor if/when appropriate. Working with a therapist should be tailored to meet your needs. Some people need a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Other people prefer a more solution-focused approach. Working together, we will figure out what is best for you. Please feel free to contact me. (Responses are typically in 48hrs)
