Being a therapist has seemed like a natural progression for me. I have always been able to easily relate to others and meet them where they are. I have taken my own struggles and used them to help make myself stronger and be able to gain insight into how to help others who may be struggling. I think anyone can benefit through the self-exploration that comes with therapy. I find it rewarding to see the progress people are capable of and to help them see the progress themselves. I have many years of experience working with children and families as well as adults and couples. I have worked with individuals and families with children as young as 3 with a variety of concerns. I am a trauma-informed therapist who is trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy to treat PTSD symptoms. I am trained in different approaches. I have experiencing with LGBTQIA individuals. I also use TTRPG's in therapy setting. I provide therapy that is non-judgemental and I seek to meet each person individually and see what they are experiencing and then build from there to solve or change. I’m here to provide you with the support you need to feel better than when we first begin.
In our first session, we will focus on building rapport and discussing what you feel is most important for me to know. I think of the first session as painting a picture of you, and then we focus on different parts of the picture as we move through sessions. The therapeutic connection is most important to me, and I feel it provides the best foundation for good treatment.
I have been trauma-trained in prolonged exposure, so that informs the way I help individuals. I have also begun Therapeutic Game Mastering- using Table Top Role Playing games in therapy. I believe the most important piece in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. You need to feel supported and trusted to work through what brings you to therapy. I understand that we are all balancing so many factors in our lives today, and I want therapy to be a place where you can come and put some of that down for at least our time together, but I will be there to support the process.
I love working with young professionals and teens as well as LGBTQ individuals. I provide support through navigating the many life transitions and the emotions that go along with those transitions. School-work-moving-relationship changes-kids or any other changes that occur in the world we live in today. I work with clients to explore their goals and navagate through them in the most beneficial way for them.

I have never been able to connect with a therapist over my ADHD and executive dysfunction like I have with Laura. We got right to work picking at problems that make day-to-day living so difficult. When something didn't work I felt comfortable sharing what happened so we could better tune our approach. I was able to bond with her over writing and roleplay and utilized those passions to help the solutions we came up with stick. I'm very very thankful for Laura!
