Hello, my name is Christopher Patchet. My master's degree is in Social Work and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. I have over 13 years' experience working in the field of mental health. My goals, as a therapist, is helping you find your strengths and helping you feel empowered to overcome life’s obstacles. Through the process, I will provide a warm, safe, opening environment for us to work on building on the best ways to achieve your goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First session we will be doing an assessment. But more importantly, we will be building a rapport on trust. You have taken a large step to self empowerment by coming here and opening up to someone new. Being able to feel comfortable to have someone to open up to is important. We will also start looking at goals and figure out together the best ways to achieve these goals for a better life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
At the heart of my work as a therapist is a deep respect for people’s lived experiences. I believe healing happens best in spaces where you can show up exactly as you are—without performing, censoring yourself, or worrying about being “too much” or “not enough.” My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to create an environment that feels safe, open, and real. Clients often tell me it feels less like a clinical office and more like a conversation with someone who truly gets it. Empathy is the foundation of everything I do. I listen carefully—not just to what’s being said, but to what’s underneath it. I take the time to understand your story, your patterns, and the context of your life, rather than rushing to labels or quick fixes. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, because no two people experience the world in the same way. I value authenticity over formality. While I take my work seriously, I don’t believe therapy has to feel cold, distant, or overly professional to be effective. I show up as a real person—warm, curious, and engaged—so you can feel comfortable being real too. Humor, honesty, and compassion all have a place in the therapy room, and I welcome them when they’re helpful. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationships, trauma, identity, or simply trying to make sense of yourself, I strive to meet you with openness and respect. Therapy with me is a collaborative process, where your voice matters and your pace is honored. Above all, I aim to create a space where you don’t have to pretend—where growth feels possible because you’re accepted exactly as you are.
